The Wizards have decided to dismiss longtime team president Ernie Grunfeld, according to league sources

Time to Party! Also for the teams who want Beal, you will now have to make a serious offer.

Whoever gets the job is going to have a major uphill fight.

Depends on what management wants, if they want to make a playoff push next year then yeah, if they want a rebuild then you at least get some sort of job security, if they want a complete overhaul then you got the best job in the world.

If they want a total overhaul you've got to find people to take bad contracts without mortgaging the future.

Depends on what teams offer. Beal is underrated and has a nice contract. I have seen opposing fans try and offer chump change. Sorry, that migt work for Wall but Beal is going to cost ya.

Yes now they can totally suck instead of being middle of the road. Yes! Yes! Yes!

Didn't they do that already?

They tore it down and dumped Gil, Butler, and Jamison for essentially nothing. Then tanked like hell for 4 consecutive years. If we're being honest they basically set the blueprint for PHI and got 4 top 6 picks where they drafted Wall, Vesley, Beal, and Porter.

They busted on 1 but hit on the other 3. It didn't result in ****.

If they are going to tank again they need to be more diligent with the draft scouting and need to get a player development squad together, and hire a coach who can actually maximize those picks.

Wall hit a plateau early, Beal has been good, but otherwise draft picks outside of top 3 have gone nowhere.

They only really have 1 bad contract in Wall and they can trade Beal for good pieces and picks back to them. Might as well keep Wall, by the time he comes off the books the overhaul should be close to done.

GREATNESS ONE

Too much. Ingram, Hart, future 1st.

What other team can take Beal into cap space without sending a dead contract back, while simultaneously giving them a young potential all-star on a rookie contract?

I can't think of any other team with enough cap space to do it that also has a young 22 and under potential all-star.

I heard that put out there without the picks and with Ball added in. I think the Wizards do it.

Ultimately I think they need to move Beal and Wall together for a sub standard package just to get out from under the Wall deal.
