Itís not Morey. This is why I wasnít keen on new owner Tilman Fertitta. He also traded James Ennis for nothing and he only makes the league minimum. WTF.

This. It wasn't Morey that let Ariza and Luc leave either.

The reasoning behind today's moves. Notice that the Rockets will only have to worry about being a repeater taxpayer once Paul's massive contract is gone, and Houston might not be a taxpayer anymore. It does make a lot of sense when you think about it. Keeping Ennis or Stauskas or making a small trade wouldn't move the needle for this team anyway. But that's it. Next year, they'll have to spend big. They'll have a 3-year window that they can go well over the tax line.

Still donít have much faith in Fertitta spending money unless he absolutely has to.

I get the motivation to delay the repeater tax, but 1 win from the finals ... you'd think an owner interested in winning would have spent the money to try again. The Warriors have yet to pay a repeater tax either, but they did it without sacrificing key players like Ariza and Luc. The moves this week are just more symptoms of the issue.

Rockets have a little wiggle room cause Capella wont get his bonus. I think they are under at $1.6M without the bonus. With bonus they got like $900K?

Be better players and wouldn't have to worry about this stuff lol. At least not this many trades.

Letís be serious, though: Ennis wasnít going to be the reason they beat the Warriors or not. Ariza at $15 million was ridiculous. Moute wanted to go back to LA and has been non-existent this year anyway so he did the Rockets a favor. That repeater tax will get ugly quick with Paul and Harden.

No idea how the Warriors can be this far into having all of those guys get paid so much and they still havenít triggered the repeater luxury tax yet. Oh, they waited a few days between re-signing Curry at $40 million per before they re-signed KD at $30 million again? This system is ****ing stupid. All the Warriors have to do is trade Draymond and all of their available firsts for a couple of youngins on cheap deals and then pay everyone off the books when they take the league minimum. The league has turned into a joke.
