Would love to move Tyreke Evans' expiring contract, but can't in this deal without also moving Doug McDermott or a starter, so the Pacers probably pass.

3 or 4 team deal... Magic have use for Batum if they "are helped" to move Mozgov...

Am I missing something here? Is Frank actually being looked at as a “sweetener” in this deal for an overpriced Batum? Frank can barely get minutes on the Hornets roster lol.

You are missing that the Hornets have "stolen" Hernangomez from the Knicks last season... nothing wrong with Frank... a very good "sweetener" indeed...

Why not throw in Hernangomez then?

If Willy Hernangomez is the reason you’re losing minutes then I don’t think you can be looked at as positive value in a trade where you’re trying to dump salary. That’s just me though.

It's just you though... They have two bigs that are good, they give the lesser one (in their judgment) to sweeten up a bad contract... simple, ain't it?

Nope because he’s not good enough to justify paying a 3&D player 20+ mil a year when he isn’t even that good at either of those things anymore. The only way Batum gets dealt is if a 1st is attached to him.

What the hell happened to Batum? He was one of the best (role) players in a really good team.

got his payday or what?

Well his contract assured he was never going to bring as much value as he was getting paid for. But speaking as a Blazer fan, his biggest problem was his lack of assertiveness. He plays passive. He was always "about" to take the next step, to finally turn the corner, and it just never came.

He can do everything well, but his impact on the actual game is just never where it needs to be.

No, you’re just wrong. Frank being a sweetener to get rid of Batum is just not a good value.

I've always thought Batum was cool, but yeah... that price... I don't know.

Both are underwhelming players.

Both have roller coaster shooting efficiency and are totally inconsistent. Batum has overrated defense and a bloated contract. Kaminsky has the rebounding ability of a SG and horrible defense.

That headline suggestion makes no sense to view Kaminsky as any sweetener. He may very well be out of the league in 2-3 years. He's already 25, and doesn't project to get any better. Batum is toxic to your cap space.

I think the Hornets are in the very worst position cap wise. They will be forced to hand $190M to Kemba or lose him for nothing. They have Batum, Biyombo, Marvin Williams, and Cody Zeller all on horrible contracts. I'd count MKG as overpaid too.

They still can afford to sign Kemba on a super max and all the contracts you say but Batums, expire after next season... Moving Batum, is the only real problem they have...
