yea but it took 3 straight layups from vuc for him to attempt help... it should be logical for a 3 minute span to bank on them missing over giving a guy a layup from a talented player on a smaller guy.. Its just free points the entire time embiid is out and vuc being talented just helps make the case for help.

yup... they just watch embiid... when embiid goes out that is when we have the shooting issues because they are so reliant on embiid... when embiid is out we need more off the ball movement not less and we seem to have less and its really stupid. I hate the notion we need shooters... we have shamet/reddick/butler/muscala and now korky... 1 more shooter will help but its not gonna just change the stupid basketball when embiid is off the floor.

Sixers need more offensive weapons. Ben is not active offensively enough to be an offensive threat. Teams know as long as he isn't near the paint, he isn't scoring. He should be working with Embiid and learning some post moves at the very least.

played great defense and was all around amazing.. his deep shots werent the issue at all.. but yes its hilarious watching our play calls... embiid just stand behind the arc to either pump out 3s or set screens... why not use chandler to screen and put embiid near the paint... just another game where he can dominate inside but the play calls are all for him outside. Its ****ing infuriating how we cut against the grain all the time and expect different results... its literally the definition of insanity.

This game means nothing and we will be better but we do the same crap over and over and over and over... for the love of god embiid dominates in the post and 90 percent of this game was called for him outside the 3 to set up a screen... we have other guys that can screen... are we trying to make up for ben that much?

Not disgruntled. I added (and you skipped) that Butler is going to help with the issue of watching Embiid. Why donít we use Embiid inside more? Thatís on him some to get in the block. He takes himself out of it.

Our out of timeout play calls has us scoring at one of the highest rates in the nba in the past year on out of timeout plays.

No. The reason they call for that Embiid screen is the unique skill set he has puts pressure on defenses. Whoís rolling, whoís popping? I actually want them to run more of that. They donít do it enough. But Embiid has to roll more than he pops. And thatís on him not Brett.

I call them strange calls when they arenít bad, but like you said they can let it go but decide to call it. Itís strange as in why is it a problem that time.

As for the Embiid having a bad game and the offense will struggle. Thatís the point of trading for Butler. So itís not all on one guy or the fast break. I canít wait for them to get work together to have each other to rely on. There were times this game where you could see them unsure of where to play off the other.

When ben is doing nothing he should be brought in for him just like brett does for fultz... Ben doesnt deserve the benefit of the doubt... TJ drive stop and shot ability in that 4th helps a ton with ben just standing around. TJ would have helped a ton in that 4th but it seemed like we relied on length because of defense but the magic were hitting any and everything so that became pretty irrelevant.

Yea the upside of Ben on the court still far outweighs the upside of TJ and that shouldnít have to be pointed out.

That's a struggle I think that will keep happening is my point. You guys just don't have the correct pieces here. I like Ben but he's got to be more of a threat out there. The talk of the guy being "Magic" is out the door here because Magic got you 20 points and could take over games if needed. If Ben is just there to rebound and pass, teams are going to have a field day knowing they have one less player to worry about. Imagine how much better the Sixers would be if it wasn't just Embiid who scored the ball when it mattered. Butler will help you guys but you do lose floor spacing and shooting without RoCo.

Just saying, it wasn't like the Magic's stood there and let Embiid get what he wanted. They did a great job defending him. Still, you can't rely on one player to make things happen. The days of Tracy McGrady carrying the Magic or LeBron carrying the Cavs in 2008 are over. You need more.

Imagine how much better the Sixers would be if it wasn't just Embiid who scored the ball when it mattered. Butler will help you guys but you do lose floor spacing and shooting without RoCo.

Now I think you are overreacting.

ďWill keep strugglingĒ ~ like when we didnít have a wing guy of Butlers ilk? I disagree.

ďThe guy being like MagicĒ and ďJust there to rebound an passĒ ~ Heís averaging 14.9/9.5/7.7 on the season, has his second bad game of the year and your trying to bury him.

ďHow much better if it want just EmbiidĒ ~ thatís the point of trading for the guy that just played his first game for us.

ďLose floor spacing without RoCoĒ ~ yes right now we did. We can make other moves. But we do have guys on this team that can provide spacing. Unless JJ, Muscala, Korkmaz, and Shamet all magically died without us knowing.

Great averages by Ben but again, your problem is SCORING and FINISHING games. Refer to why you guys lost to the Celtics. I'm not even talking about the regular season. If you guys want to be title contenders, Ben needs to be more of an offensive threat and you guys need more than just Embiid and Butler. You say it's "one bad game for Ben." Is it? I've seen many games where he will just stand there uncomfortably and not even look to get open. I think the scenario is you think Butler will help solve your problem. No, it won't. Butler is one player and you guys have numerous who aren't producing offensively when needed.

You can disagree all you want. You guys are 9-7 when you should be much better. Your offensive rating is below average and two of your top picks are afraid to score the ball. How far your team goes won't depend on Butler or Embiid. It'll depend on whether or not Ben can take that next step. Forget about Fultz. I gave up on that guy a long time ago.

OKC fans have been begging for Adams to get more opportunities offensively. Billy is finally letting Adams get more touches around the rim and below the elbow. Funny how Westbrook being out helps him realize Adams can score the ball because he's got size advantage and good hands. We got rid of Melo for Schroder and Schroder has done a great job pushing our offense. Thanks Melo. We owe you one.

Butler very much helps with that scoring and finishing. And thatís where itís going to take some time. There were 0 ISOís by Butler in the second half. Thatís where Brett will learn itís ok to call plays of giving it to your best wing scorer and tell him to get you points. That not everything needs to come off of a play.

The obsession you and other have with knocking Ben for anything is hilarious to me. Itís like the complaint about him changes based on what happened that game. Could Ben be more assertive in the half court? Absolutely. But do I know on most night heís more likely to be a positive force on offense? Hell yes.

How far our team goes is beyond Ben, Butler, and Embiid. It extends to who steps up in what roles. Who becomes that go to 6th man. Who does the dirty work. How do Butler and Embiid mesh in half court sets.

Kawhi got to his spot and the ball bounced off his leg. I'm going to reserve judgment on Kawhi until January. He has looked good at times but at other times he's looked clunky and is still lacking explosiveness.

They're going to win this game, but man Wiggins basketball IQ is bad. They're up 5 with 45 seconds left and got the ball back. Now, normally you would run that clock all the way down then try to shoot, either wasting all of the clock possible or forcing them to foul you. They were playing keep away for a good portion (and succeeding) and Wiggins decides to throw up a 3 at 30 seconds left :pity: .... Man he got lucky Town's got a huge rebound.

Yea the upside of Ben on the court still far outweighs the upside of TJ and that shouldnít have to be pointed out.

I almost picked against the Sixers today because I just knew in my gut the offense was going to struggle in Jimmyís first game. You got guys who havenít had the time to figure anything out and weíre going to play offense like a pickup game.

I agree. I also donít think TJ is going to be a rotation player so long as Fultz is. Too many mouths to feed. I think Fultz should sit until he shows he can play in practice. That way TJ gets his clock and if itís a night where Ben doesnít have it or he is hurting you in a half court game you can comfortably go with TJ. He is the better player right now and has earned his spot. Fultz should have to take it from him
