they got him for an absolute steal. Would've loved to have kept him at that price if he was willing to be our center. Apparently his agent and our FO are on bad terms.

Julius should've signed a one year.. dude will average 20/10 and get way more

yea was expecting him to get more like 3 year 48 but I guess he takes less on a smaller deal to shoot for max in 2 years.

2nd year is a player option. So he basically did.

Unrelated, but this market is making me feel pretty damn good at the Rockets' chances to keep Capela. If this is the best Randle could get, nobody is maxing Capela this summer.

well capela could opt to sign his QO and be a UFA next year though instead of taking a mid level multi year deal from Rockets.

Capela was never leaving. HOU would match any offer.

considering favors got 2/36, pelicans did very well. randle played great last year, sad to see him leave

he makes as much as rondo and 3 mill less than pope this season... really think about that... in 27 minutes he put up 16/8 and is a 20/10 player on 55 percent shooting.

He literally signed this to get back at LA next year lol... this is a ****ing steal.

Personally I think that shipped sailed after all the 1 year deals, but you never know... There is still an outside chance at a sign and trade, but reports say the Cousins camp has moved on from LA, who knows though.

nothing. He isnt ready until january... this is a smart move by the pelicans to compete. They dont do this if he is healthy.

So happy for Randle but it sucks we could have kept him at that price. I guess they were correct when they reported he wanted out.

don't we gain 12M back cuz randle's hold is now gone? I think we have 17M left?

we gained it back before we did the Rondo deal. We have about 5.5M right now. Can stretch Deng to bring us to around 15M. If we can manage to trade him for picks up to 23M.

Possibly, more recent reports indicate Lakers are in on Cousins, so it's getting interesting.

lmao. damn I'm way off then.

Yea I prefer not to stretch deng. Just try to trade him next off season when he's an expiring instead. Stretching him is the last thing we should do imo.

Yes please don't stretch. We don't need that contract haunting us for another 5 years.

When you're over the cap, cap holds do not count against active roster salary spots. Therefore when they are renounced they do not give back any cap. After the Rondo signing the Lakers are just about capped out...Need to move Deng to create enough room for Cousins.

Lakers are right at $100M with
LeBron
Deng
KCP
Rondo
Ball
Ingram
Stephenson
Wagner
Kuzma
Hart
Zubac
McGee

Really like this signing for New Orleans. Poor man's Boogie with a similar skill set. He is much younger with room to grow. Could grow into a nice tandem with A.D.

They just need a legit 3PT shooter. They would be smart to try and steal Ellington from the HEAT, but I think he wants the full non-tax MLE and multiple years.

If the pelicans manage to get randle for this price and then steal a ball from the lakers for cousins that would be pretty insane... Not a ball fan but both young players next to AD will grow... Randle will really grow next to AD. Id rather have randle at this price tag than cousins at a max after that injury. Lakers should have kept randle because if they max or near max cousins and he doesnt return to form they are stuck and that isnt a risk worth taking when they can just sign KL next year and fill out the roster with the remaining dollars with good players.

Yeah, I agree. But there was always this concern that Capela at a max would be too much, and now I don't think there's a realistic chance that happens. I could see him signing for something like 3 years, $50 million or 4 years, $70 million, whereas, I was legitimately concerned he was going to get 4 years, $100 million from somebody.

Well Bobby Marks was the worst GM in history so I wouldn't listen to him. Add up all of their salaries and you'll see they're at $100M. $101M with the vacant spot hold.

This roster is butt lol. If I'm Philly I'm offering to swallow Deng's contract as long as it comes with Ingram. Lakers get Cousins and avoid getting knocked out in the first round. Philly ends up with a young potential star in the making.

Nobody is signed yet. Stephenson and McGee will be signed with the room exception and veterans exception, respectively so they don't count against cap space. The Lakers will use all their cap space up first before signing with the exceptions.

Stephenson 4.5 is going to be under the room exception which if you take out of your 100 total gives Lakers right around 5.6M. Hmmmm

That's the only thing that makes sense, they were going to let him walk in return thought they had Rondo and Boogie, but the warriors got A deal done with Boogie before they could get it done!
