Thatís my biggest fear. Even Bagley scares me. Give them a year or up to 2 to learn from Horford? ****. That would suck for not just us but most the east.

I really want you guys to end up with the Sac pick.

This time next year, I will be a lot happier. I hope we tank. The Nets get their draft picks back. This year we have 3 picks (Torontoís 1st and 2 second rounders) My hope for this years draft is that we package our picks to move up and draft. DíAngelo Russell, Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Jhalil Okafor, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, etc. We have some youthful talent despite all of the disadvantages of not having our draft picks for years. It could be better but it also could be worse. Thanks Sean Marks.

First of all, this is the first top 3 pick we've had in all these years of sucking. Don't bring that BS about giving us chance after chance. This is the first one we're getting.

Second, at least we weren't tanking. Chicago was disgraceful. We're a young team. That's why we were losing. If we were tanking like you guys, we wouldn't have ever even been tied with you. That only happened because we were actually playing to win and won games at the end of the year. I'm glad that that's what ended up getting rewarded, not a full on tank job.

Don't draft another Dragan Bender, Phoenix!

Nice to see other teams get high picks for a change. The Kings have the biggest odds to pick another dud, even though I like Fox most recently.

The Hawks should benefit from a high pick.
Memphis needs a spark, for sure.
Dallas has been flailing for a while, hopefully get another surprise like Dennis Smith Jr.
The Magic, who knows with that mess of a team what they plan to do, if they even have a plan.
The Bulls are just lost, as that front office is terrible.
The Cavaliers, we'll wait and see what happens with LeBron.
The Knicks probably would like a higher pick, at least they have a coach first this time around.
The 76ers will just get better, whoever they pick.
The Hornets need a spark after some mediocrity to usher in the post-Clifford era.
Clippers with two picks, nice. Wonder what Jerry West is up to,
now that they've re-upped Sweet Lou and dumped Blake.
And the Nuggets have a lot of young players already, so it can only help I suppose.
Sucks for the Pistons, though. Just shows how much damage and lack of perception Stan Van had.
1 Phoenix Suns
2 Sacramento Kings
3 Atlanta Hawks
4 Memphis Grizzlies

lolol. If you could read, you'd see I don't even live in California, let alone Sacramento.

You sound mad though. Especially for a fan of a team that got gift-wrapped a number one pick when they had no business getting it with Rose. Kings have been bad but not bad enough all these years. We get lucky once, and you get all offended by it. You're not entitled to anything just because it's the Bulls.

I could see the Suns taking Doncic #1 overall. Not just because of his relationship with the coach (although that will probably be somewhat of a factor), but because they would be stacking talent on the perimeter and his ability to the play the point. He wouldn't necessarily start at PG, but he could. With Booker, Jackson, and Doncic, the Suns would be sick on the peremiter. Phoenix can expect another strong pick in 2019.

Ayton is still a strong possibility at #1, and I believe he is the best player in the class, but he's not a lock IMO.

Doncic is the best player In this draft. I watched the Euro championship over the summer and he was easily the best player. He outshined Porzingis, Markannen and even his team Dragic who won the "MVP". But Doncic appeared to be the best by a mile. Divac is going to take his home boy Doncic with no.2 pick. It's so obvious. It's on silver platter for him.

The problem is that I don't know how he can fit on a team with so many guards. I would hate for his career to be derailed on a badly constructed team like the Kings. He needs to be on a team where he's the focal point and has the freedom to roam and do damage.

this and its ********... I have said it all along. I have also said this is a deep draft... There will be really good guys from 1-15 but I dont see the superstars at the top that other people do. Dont be surprised if a team like the knicks at 8 get the best player in this draft.

With the lottery in place, this is how I could see the draft going

#1 Suns: Luka Doncic
#2-Kings: DeAndre Ayton
#3 Hawks: Marvin Bagley
#4 Grizzlies: Jaren Jackson Jr
#5 Mavericks: Mo Bamba
#6 Orlando: Michael Porter Jr
#7 Bulls: Wendell Carter
#8 Cavaliers: Trae Young
#9 Knicks: Mikal Bridges
#10 76ers: Robert Williams
#11 Hornets: Kevin Knox
#12 Clippers: Colin Sexton
#13 Clippers: Miles Bridges
#14 Nuggets: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

It would be ideal for the Kings to get Ayton, but the Suns look to be dead set on taking him.

I would just hate for a player like Doncic to get picked by the Kings, where he just wont be able to fit in with those guards.

Divac should do what's best for both, and draft Bagley or Jackson instead. Neither of which are as good as Doncic, but they fill a need the Kings desperately need down low.

Ayton is going to be great, but I'm thinking the Suns are going to take Doncic. The prospect of Booker/Jackson/Doncic is going to be very appealing. I am always worried about the Kings drafting anyone because they could easily ruin any prospect. I would be actively worried about going to Sacramento if I were a top prospect.

We would play Doncic at small forward. From what I've read, he should fit well with Bogdanovic, Fox, and Hield.

Fox/Mason
Bogdanovic/Shump/Temple
Doncic/Jackson
Giles/Labissiere/ZBo
Cauley-Stein/Koufos
6th man - Hield

That would be my guess if Giles is really the player that they've been talking him up as. That'd be a team with a lot of talented passing and scoring versatility.

I do think Ayton would be safer for us, but a center and SF are our two biggest holes, and with analysts saying Doncic will likely play SF, the top 2 prospects fit those holes.

International players are tricky to evaluate. That's why my Lakers chose Russell over Porz. But look at the players taken early such as Bargnani, Darko, etc. all busts. So its more of a 25% chance they pan out to be a good player. I think he goes 4th not 1st, too much pressure for the guy to go 1st.

Hope Doncic is a stud. Have a few Slovenian friends and theyíre legit.

boston's kings pick for 19 may have lost value depending if their rookie is a future star

Maybe, maybe not. It is the Kings after all. Their draft history isn't great (although I like Fox) but even if they do hit, that team is still incredibly young, playing in the West, in the toughest division in the NBA.

He seems to be implying that they're too risky to pick at #1. Yao was the only #1 from your list. Pau went #3 and Dirk #9.

There have been 9 non US born #1 draft picks in NBA history

Hits
Simmons
KAT
Wiggins
Yao
Olajuwon

It's a better hit rate than US born players. But his point that GM's seem less willing to take the risk at #1 seems to have merit. However, in recent history, that idea seems to be changing. And the success of Simmons, KAT and to an extent Wiggins may make GM's more willing to pull the trigger at #1

Weren't Yao and Bargs the only international #1 picks? I don't count canadians since they go through the same process as the US draftees

If you go with guys that didn't play in the NCAA though that list is only Yao Ming and Andrea Bargnani.

BTW on that list you left out Andrew Bogut (Australia), Mychal Thompson (Bahamas, 1978).

I think most the time that teams pass on the Euro player early on is they didn't scout them in season enough to really know what they could get. Luka could be different. Teams have been watching him and with his former coach the Suns have some real inside knowledge of him and what he brings.

This. Doncic will be a bit like Saric in the sense he has played well a lot in the Euroleague (2x MVP) and also in international ball. Guys like Bender on the contrary were drafted all on physical upside and really don't play significant ball (Bender had a grand total of 15 mins euroleague basketball under his belt)

He is not going to be a bust. He'll take a year to adjust however.

Obviously not his intention to single out #1 picks, or he would have not mentioned Darko. He was deliberately looking for high busts and ignoring all the successful ones.

I don't agree. Mario is a better athlete and was more of a scorer and chucker with Barcelona.

Doncic is a scorer and play-maker. His downfall might be his footspeed, but his skill/iq is too high. In this pnr league which he is a wizard at, he'll be a solid starter at worst. I think he has a really high floor. Not impossible for him to bust though.

Just an observation, but does anyone notice that one team which openly spoke about tanking (Mavs), and another team which blatanlty rested healthy players (Grizzlies) both got shafted with the lottery results? I mean granted there are conspiracy theories for everything, but maybe this is the league sending a message to them? I don't know, just wondering if I am alone on this one.

The kings tried to compete all season. Went out and signed Zbo & Hill. Atlanta played tough all season & down the stretch, budenholzer made sure they brought effort every night. Both got rewarded....

Its hard to say whether the Suns tanked. I don't think they did. Who do they have on that team? Booker missed nearly 30 games. Payton didn't get to the Suns until February. But they do have a nice thing going when they take Deandre Ayton. Payton, Booker, Jackson, Chriss and Ayton on paper looks pretty good.

I don't like Payton with that PHX group.

Broken shooting mechanics, and nowhere remotely close to the defender we thought he'd be coming out of college. I suspect instant buyer's remorse to whoever gives him a long term deal. If PHX is smart they will use their other picks to get a PG in this draft, and force Payton into the 1yr qualifying offer. If someone signs him to an offer sheet longer than 2 years let him walk.

I'll be honest, I think phoenix is just a bad team.

As referenced, they did miss booker for a good portion, but whether he was out/in they played their best lineups. They just didn't have a good team whatsoever, and even made moves to try to improve with trading for elfrid.

Mavericks could have easily won 5-10 more games if they wanted to, and so could the grizzlies

When a team tanks the GM moves the good older players for younger players or draft picks. A weak roster is a big part of tanking. The 2nd thing done is player injuries happen at a higher rate and last longer. Another tactic is to keep older players who play hard but play losing ball and you center the offense around them. That way coaches and players are protected because fans look at the active roster and can say "well how can THIS team win".

It's all planned.

If I am Phoenix Suns the logical choice is to take DeAndre Ayton over Luka Doncic. I mean we still do not even know what kind of star Doncic will be or even if his European game will translate well into the NBA. I guess I am skeptical about Doncic but Ayton is the safer bet at least for me anyway if I am Phoenix. Ayton looks the most ready.
