Not playing him games 1 and 2 I get it. There was no Embiid.

But with Embiid back, they should’ve played Whiteside more.

Why they pay him 93M for ?!

he stinks. his mins were cut most of the season. he couldnt guard Embiid without fouling him either.

Guy's been a headcase for Miami all year long. Will have a stretch where he looks like the best center in the league for a couple games or so, then will seem completely distracted/uninterested on whats going on for other times. Was hoping he could turn it around and step up for the moment in the playoffs, but he's regressed even more and seems to be in a bad place mentally right now.

Don't deserve touches when the team never knows which player is going to show up. The all star, or the overseas version.

While it is true that Miami is misusing Whiteside, the fact is we are more efficient team with him on the bench. He doesn't have a reliable jump shot or good post moves. His play style is confined to the pick and roll and second chance opportunities. Other than that he doesn't do much offensively. Defensively, he is strong underneath the basket but runs into trouble against bigs who pull him out of the lane. He's not as mobile as some of the other bigs around the league so he is slow on the perimeter. That gets him into foul trouble.

Whiteside is really talented in specific areas, but he has a lot of weaknesses in his overall game and his style doesn't mesh well with the rest of the team. We are better with Kelly Ollynk (KO) at the 5, and James Johnson (JJ) at the 4 because of their ability to spread the floor for the guards (Dragic, Wade, Richardson, Ellington, Johnson). Miami is a slower paced team, but relies heavily on ball movement offensively because our guys struggle to create for themselves. Whiteside doesn't help ball movement, and while that in and of itself isn't a bad thing, it's a bad thing for us.

As a fan, I respect Whiteside for what he has accomplished since coming to the team. He actually went from playing basketball at a local YMCA center to earning a max contract (25% of the cap) in the NBA in less than two years. He earned that through hard work and talent, and I'm glad he is on the team. However, as Miami has constructed the roster since he signed his contract the team play style doesn't mesh with his. He isn't a natural fit with the rest of the roster so both sides (he and the team) are having to compensate for one another when he's on the floor. About the only player on the team that he has solid chemistry with is Wade.

Whiteside came to Miami and revived his career and saved the organization after Chris Bosh's blood clots. He was awarded a four year, $98,419,538 contract. Both sides have benefited from this marriage, but I believe after the season it would be best for both sides if Miami traded him. The way he plays would be better suited somewhere else and moving his contract would go a long way toward helping Miami's troublesome cap situation. On top of that we still have Olynk and Adebayo (who is going to be fantastic btw).

Nobody is going to give up something too much of value for Whiteside. Maybe Portland can give up some of their deals, Nurkic, and a pick for Whiteside, but I would just dump Whiteside for the highest bidder. Maybe Orlando wants to get rid of Vucevic?

Hassan Whiteside has the mental capacity of a teenager and when things aren't going his way he just stops trying on defence. You need to make him happy for him to buy in but he isn't a good enough player for that type of commitment.

He had like 4 fouls by the second quarter

unfortunately heats offense runs better without him.

so they trading a smoother offense for losing an average defender

Surprised anyone is still fooled into thinking he makes a team better.

I hope some GM thinks like PSD and offers anything of value for him. He's easily not worth his contract.

They're pretty much stuck with him for a couple more years. The Heat are going to be in a bad place for a long time. Fighting for a playoff spot every year. They're paying so many mediocre/average players 10+ mil a year for the next few seasons. JJ, Olynyk, TJ and Waiters. They're going to have to draft really well in the late teens early twenties.
