Which team can say they have drafted the best all time team (disregarding their length of time on that team)

For reference you can click the link and find a team under Franchise Draft History
https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/

Obviously the teams who have been around the longest will have the best teams, but it could get interesting

For fun I did Miami who has sucked drafting historically:

Sherman Douglas/Eddie House
Dwyane Wade/Steve Smith
Glen Rice/Rasual & Caron Butler
Grant Long/Michael Beasley
Rony Seikaly/Kurt Thomas

I'm going to do two, because this could be somewhat interesting:

Overall for the Sixers:
PG - Hal Greer - Maurice Cheeks - Lou Williams
SG - Andrew Toney - Allen Iverson - Doug Collins - World B. Free
SF - Billy Cunningham - Andre Iguodala - Jerry Stackhouse
PF - Charles Barkley - Clarence Weatherspoon - George McGinnis
C - Darryl Dawkins - Joel Embiid - Luke Jackson

Man....that team can play fast, slow, would find a way to spread them out some with shooting. I actually really would like to see that. And that Bench Unit would finally be something to make AI look much better.

So my fun one, Process Only players:
Ben Simmons - TJ McConnell (Undrafted FA so I'm counting him) - Pierre Jackson
Timothe Luwawu Cabbarot - Markelle Fultz - Glen Rice (Weak Point)
Furkan Korkmaz - KJ McDaniels - JP Tokoto
Jerami Grant - Richaun Holmes - Jonah Bolden (Seriously look him up)
Joel Embiid - Willy Hernangomez - Jahlil Okafor

It's got it's spots, but it's also got it's blahs.

Warriors not doing to bad in the drafting department...

Curry, Klay, Green, Mullin, Sprewell, Wilt, Vince Carter, Arenas, J Rich, Rick Barry, Penny Hardaway, Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond.

Houston's all-time teams are notoriously stacked in the front court and weak in the back court, and this is especially obvious in this exercise. I cheated a little bit here because they drafted so many talented centers and forwards and so few quality guards.

PG Calvin Murphy / Sam Cassell
SG Richard Jefferson / Cuttino Mobley
SF Robert Horry / Rudy Tomjanovich / Rudy Gay
PF Hakeem Olajuwon / Ralph Sampson / Bobby Jones (who I didn't know they drafted)
C Yao Ming / Elvin Hayes

Stockton/Dwill/
Gordon Hayward/Byron Russell/Darrell Griffith
Dominique/Adrei Kirilenko/Hayward
Karl Malone/Paul Millsap
Mark Eaton/Danny Schayes

not a bad team. pretty balanced. not bad for only being around since 1974.

The Bucks are probably the best all-time:

• PG: Stephon Marbury, Sidney Moncrief
• SG: Alex English, Michael Redd
• SF: Julius Erving, Bob Dandridge
• PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dirk Nowitzki
• C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Andrew Bogut

My Blazers are pretty pathetic, considering how many all-time guys they passed on:

• PG: Damian Lillard, Terry Porter
• SG: Clyde Drexler, Fat Lever
• SF: Jerome Kersey, Clifford Robinson
• PF: Zach Randolph, Sidney Wicks
• C: Bill Walton, Jermaine O'Neal

You’d have Giannis starting over Dirk?

Yep. It was a tough choice, but someone had to come off the bench. I also thought about slotting Giannis in at point guard, a la Ben Simmons.

Damn; looking at Golden State, I think they might have the best all-draftee team — a deep, killer small-ball roster around some all-time centers:

• PG: Stephen Curry, Tim Hardaway, Gilbert Arenas
• SG: Vince Carter, Klay Thompson, Monta Ellis
• SF: Anfernee Hardaway, Rick Barry, Latrell Sprewell
• PF: Draymond Green, Chris Mullin
• C: Wilt Chamberlain, Robert Parrish

I'm looking through some others and this might give a run for the money:
PG Chauncey Billups - Sam Jones - Jo Jo White
SG Frank Ramsey - Danny Ainge - John Havlicek
SF Larry Bird - Paul Pierce - Cliff Hagan
PF Kevin McHale - Tom Heinsohn - Antoine Walker
C Chuck Share - Dave Cowens - Al Jefferson

This team isn't all that old but:
PG Victor Oladipo - Keyon Dooling
SG JJ Redick - Courtney Lee - Nick Anderson
SF Dennis Scott - Matt Harpring - Mike Miller
PF Chris Webber - Anderson Varejao - Dario Saric
C Shaquille O'Neal - Dwight Howard - Zaza Pachulia

PG spot is really weak, in fact they've never drafted a pure PG. But that depth at the 3-4 would kill most teams...and then theres Dwight, Shaq, Webber. Zing, a Zaza is dirty joke.

And the Knicks have an interesting history:
PG Walt Frazier - Mark Jackson - Rod Strickland
SG Richie Guerin - Dick Van Arsdale - Mike Woodson
SF Bill Bradley - Cazzie Russell - Gerald Wilkins
PF Dolph Schayes - Kurt Rambis - Kristaps Prozingis
C Patrick Ewing - Willis Reed - Nene Hilario

PG: Magic / Gail Goodrich
SG: West / Cooper
SF: Baylor / Eddie Jones
PF: Worthy / AC Green
C: Marc Gasol / Vlade Divac

Shaq would dominate anyone, but I can't see any of those teams remotely hanging with Golden State. They can bury any team with threes, and Chamberlain's about the closest you'll get to Shaq's physical dominance.

Abdul-Rauf / Jameer Nelson / Donovan Mitchell
Jalen Rose / Jamaal Murray / Evan Fournier
Melo / Brent Barry / James Posey
Jokic / Raef Lafrentz / Laphonso Ellis
Mutombo / Gobert / Faried?

I mean the team sucks comparatively so I should just see myself out lol

Marbury over Moncrief and Giannis over Dirk is quite insane.

PG: Sidney Moncrief
SG: Giannis Antetokounmpo
SF: Julius Erving
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

This is probably the most stacked team possible. This would be the team to beat.

Spurs aren't too bad...

PG: Tony Parker – Goran Dragic
SG: Alvin Robertson – George Hill
SF: Manu Ginobili - Sean Elliott
PF: Tim Duncan
C: David Robinson

That is a stacked team, but I'm not sure that team would be able to stop the Bucks starting unit or even the Spurs (Draymond wouldn't be tall enough to even kick Duncan in the nuts). Although, it might be the most stacked with talent at all positions.

You wouldn't need to stop the other team on defense. Just bury them in threes and let Chamberlain go to work in the post. I might have even went a little too small, leaving out guys like Chris Webber and Nate Thurmond. But I still don't think there's another team that can keep up on offense.

Marbury over Moncrief and Giannis over Dirk is quite insane.

Looking back, I should have slotted Giannis in at point guard. Marbury over Moncrief is by no means crazy. The former is way better offensively, and the latter is way better defensively. Who to start depends on the strategy at a given point in the game.

Webber was technically drafted by the Magic and traded after.

I honestly didn't expect the Raps to stack up, but here it is.

Damon Stoudamire
Demar Derozan
Tracy McGrady
Chris Bosh
Marcus Camby

Possibly as many as 4 HoF players in there. Possibly only one as well.

In their 5 year prime, Moncrief scored on par to Marbury(22 points to 21 points), only he did so on elite efficiency (.592). Marbury was very inefficient (.526 TS%). Not only was Moncrief a better offensive player who didn't need the ball to be as productive as Marbury, he was without question a better defender too. When looking at advanced stats, I see nothing that states Marbury is superior...VORP, WS/48, BPM (which I don't really like anyways), lower usage%, etc...

I'm curious why you think Marbury was better.
