curious to see how the cavs are gonna play tonight. As often as we have said it the past couple of weeks, with their loss vs the magic yesterday they hit absolutely rock bottom

Ouch. Poor Cleveland. ANOTHER nationally televised game against a superior team? I'd like to think that they'll wake up and turn it around at some point, but I don't like their odds to do it on a national stage against the Wolves.

For the Rockets, this game against the Heat tonight scares me. They played in Brooklyn last night, so they just had to fly across pretty much the whole east coast. And the Heat played them extremely well the last time these two teams met.

I don't have a great feeling about this one either, but I'm not ready to predict an upset. I think this will be similar to their last matchup, where it's close until the final minutes, but the Rockets ultimately pull away.

Heat haven't played all that well lately. They go on massive scoring droughts.

I think it's more likely the Rockets blow them out.

Remember the talks this summer that Griffin was putting together something to get PG and Butler? Something like Kyrie for Butler then Love for a pick that would be sent for PG. Man that team would be good as ****.

Wade/Rose
Butler/JR
PG/Korver
LeBron/Green
TT/Frye

Probably would've got a buyout guy or 2 to replace Rose and JR

You mean this 24-year-old kid averaging 13 points a night for a mediocre Eastern Conference team? Nope. Think I'm justified here. He may be having a breakout season, but when your "breakout season" is 13/3/3 with below average advanced stats, color me unimpressed.

Edit: Also, the guy scored his career high tonight. That's like the third or fourth time I've seen a role player put up 25+ this season in a career high night.

Nice pivot....he ain’t scrub. He’s improved year after year. That said, yeah he was out of his mind tonight.

Calling him a "scrub" isn't really fair. But it's fair in the context of how well he played tonight. He was something like 7-9 from the 3-point line the last time I checked with 30 ****ing points. He's not that kind of player, and that's my point. The Rockets have consistently had random role players totally go off on them this season. Darius Miller of the Pelicans is another guy who did it a few weeks back in a Rockets loss. And in their first loss against the Clippers, Austin Rivers looked like a freaking Hall of Famer.

To be fair, I haven't watched the Richardson kid much, as the Rockets don't exactly play them regularly and I don't really have any reason to watch many Eastern Conference games. I'm aware of his existence and that he's had a decent season. Seems like a good shooter and a solid on-ball perimeter defender, but I'm not expecting to see him in an All-Star game anytime soon.

J Rich is definitely a role player, but the 30 points don't surprise me mainly because he's a terrific 3-point shooter. Don't let his 3pt% on the year fool you - I think he's underachieving on that end.

His defense is also good too as you mentioned.

But yeah, your Rox only play 'em twice a year. He's burned my Cavs a ton of times in the last few years.

Yeah, that felt a little weird. It would be like having half of your defensive backs guarding the underneath routes with 2 second left on a Hail Mary pass. What were those guys at half-court going to do with 1 second left?

Even worse since those guys technically have unlimited time once the clock strikes zero. There's literally no justification to guard anybody past the 35 feet from the hoop, let alone 60 feet. Wiggins didn't even come off his man once 'Bron caught it (he should have been sprinting over once the ball was in the air... there's no time to pass) The Wolves definitely botched that one.

Dear god.... Can we implement a mercy rule for NBA fans? Like if a game clearly looks like it's about to be a train wreck like this Spurs/Suns game, could the NBA pretend like there was a weather delay or technical difficulties and switch to reruns of old iconic NBA games instead? I'd much rather them switch to an NBA Finals Game 7 and then just switch back later if the game starts getting relevant.

(Note: I'm fully award that this is ridiculous, but I rarely even sit down to watch non-Rockets regular season basketball anymore. And it sucks that the one night I actually attempt to do it, I have to watch a live televised abortion instead.)

I hope no other players get it ... the problem is not new. There are too many things for the officials to see. There should be a 4th official up top to watch feet. Right now the top official is watching hands and arms and the ball until the shooter starts to go up, then he looks at feet to see if it's a 3 or not. They need another set of eyes. No other way this gets solved. And I think the game was better when it was a gather half step and a step rather than what it is now with a gather step, followed by a step and a half.
