View Full Version : Game on the line: Curry half court shot or Roberson free throws?

In an elimination playoff game: would you count on Steph Curry making a half court heave (let's say at least 5 feet behind the line), or would you count on Andre Roberson making 2 free throws? Either you win the game with the made basket(s), or you lose. Discuss

Roberson free throw. Even though he's only shooting 29 percent there this season, that's a really limited sample size of only 31 shots. For his career, the guy is a 47 percent free throw shooter. Curry is a 44 percent 3-point shooter by comparison. Given that we're doubling the length of a regulation 3-point shot for Curry to 47 feet, it would be optimistic to assume he'd shoot any better than 30 percent from the half-court mark, which still seems high to me. The odds say Roberson is more likely to make that shot than Curry is from half-court.

Curry from the other team free throw line is what I would take as well, Curry from the luxury box suite

Iverson took a bunch of Robersons to the Finals with him and those players could barely hit a spoon fed layup so I would definitely have to roll with Chicken Steph Curry
