Omg LeBron with easily the best pass of the year to the GOAT!

Great effort and defense in the first like the Pacers game, we'll see if they give It away again.

The line-ups actually make sense. The only argument that can be made would be that Steph has missed a good chunk of this season, but he's been absolutely dominant when he was playing. He's averaging more per game and just a bit below his 1 dominant MVP season.

Based on how the NBA has been recently, I want to see Irving and Lebron on different teams, as well as Cousins/Davis... Lets have former teammate and teammate brawls :laugh2:

The difference is that the Pacers are somewhat decent and should be a playoff team. I honestly think that most teams bench rosters would beat the Magic... They're just so poorly set up and poorly managed.... they've had way to many years near the bottom to end up with potentially 55-60 losses again.

Yea that's true but they were also up 26 or so on the Magic a little over a week ago and let them back in and barely squeaked it out. I'm just wanting to see a full game of effort and defense from this team and hope they get better and better each game.

Hey, at least your process made the all-star team :laugh2:

Good for him; I'll eat some crow and say that I'm shocked that he was able to stay as healthy as he has (I know he's still on a softer schedule, but when I mean healthy, I mean I thought he wouldn't play as many games as last season)

There's still half the season left. But yeah congrats to you know who. He's had a few rough games recently, though.

Gotta wonder if Markelle Fultz did not go insane and forgot how to shoot a basketball whether the Sixers could have upset the Celtics this year in the playoffs. Granted, the Celtics are down Kyrie tonight so it's not indicative of them at full strength (and have been without arguably their best player all season), but you can just see how easily Embiid can dominate Al Horford, and that's a huge advantage in that matchup.

I want to put Giannis at 4th badly with the logic that a strong playoff run will support it, then remembered the MVP is strictly a regular season award.

It's just a weird set up, its as if they ride Bron to squeak by for the bench players to truly throttle teams. Like you look at the bench and they're at their best with LeBron. I wonder at what point do you just play your most effective lineups until you bleed it dry. Maybe wade and korver can't sustain that level of play much longer. Tristan has really killed them, I wouldn't be surprised if he had one of the worst on off on the team

WaDe03
01-18-2018, 10:10 PM

Only team in the NBA with an average age over 30. But the Spurs followed closely by the Warriors are the 2nd and 3rd oldest so yeah, definitely not an excuse.

Let's be honest, though. They were good (and still should be). They absolutely laid waste to the Eastern Conference with a historical level offense before the Warriors slapped them around last year.

One offense woke up. Houston's offense is interesting (and different than GS in this respect) in that they will simply take their first available decent look and fire. I bet their average 1st shot on the year is at least 5 seconds quicker than the next closest team(anybody know where to find this?). It's definitely not a bad thing and can close deficits + extend leads VERY quickly.

Towns is killing the Wolves flow with his spot-up 3's (not even attempting to move). Teague completely looked him off on the last possession. He shot them out of it to end the 2nd. You don't want your elite offensive center going 0-5 from 3 in a half. Especially in non broken sets.

Lmao Eric Gordon! Just ended that game in the 3rd quarter. Rox just dominated the end of the 2nd/3rd quarter and put away the game.

The Wolves... are apparently not ready for the top of the West. This is a game you have to come back and win or at least fight closely after the embarrassing loss last game if you're to be taken seriously as an HCA team. They haven't brought it thus far.

I would hope that Cleveland would beat Orlando.... The Magic are the absolute worst team in the league... and they got their poor fans hopes up starting 8-4 :pity:

So, I'm sorry to Cavs fans for almost jinxing their team :laugh2: Not going to lie, I would be very worried for them at this point if I were a fan of the team. I know the team usually is auto-pilot until the last couple months, but this shouldn't happen

I like the potential of Minny's offense a lot, but they have to learn that in a 10-11 point game with 2-3 minutes to go, you can't just wait for the perfect shot and let the clock go down to 3-4 seconds. Especially when you ultimately end up being obvious in what you're looking for and end up having the D completely contain your 1st (and last) attempt. They have a lot to learn from the Rox offense in that regard.

They really should've had this game closer with a weakened wing game from the Rockets and limited minutes from a weakened Harden. I'm unimpressed.

Full health both teams. Nice. It's in Houston, and the Rockets are 17-6 at home, that's pretty strong. It's almost as good as the Warriors who are 16-3 on the road. I'll take the road Warriors.

Harden was trash in limited minutes, they were missing a starter and they still blew out the fourth best team in the West tonight. When Harden, Paul and Capela play this season, they're 16-0. Even if that record becomes 16-1 on Saturday, I'm feeling pretty damn good about where this team is at moving forward. They just need to get healthy and stay that way.

Mmm.... That's a bit of a stretch, dude. I hardly "flipped out." I simply stated that the Rockets were a hell of a lot more banged up than Golden State. Which they were.

I still don't think this Rockets team is at full strength with Harden clearly not 100 percent back from injury and two key wings missing, but a loss will still be a loss and a win will still be a win on Saturday. Golden State is still the better team regardless of who wins that game, and they will still absolutely deserve credit if they win that game against a mostly healthy Rockets team in Houston.

To be fair, if you're counting Gerald - Couch-Surfing-3-Weeks-Ago - Green a key piece, you've already lost.

Edit: Also to be fair, I bet against you guys tonight and actually considered the absence of Green (and Ariza and limited Harden) in my decision to do so, so **** me.

What would you call a guy averaging 16/3/3 and shooting 42 percent from the 3-point line in the last 10 games? A month ago, calling Green anything but a benchwarmer would have been absurd to me, but the guy has been insanely good in that limited sample size and the Rockets' record without Harden would have been a hell of a lot worse if Green isn't wearing a Rockets jersey.

I edited my comment for fun.

BUT what I would call that, is a fluke awesome start from a highly energized player (against tired mid-season wings) who is trying to earn a contract (which he got).

Since earning said contract (5 games of action later... small sample size theatre V small sample size theatre) he's averaged 14/3/1 on 35/29/85 in 29 mpg and been suspended.

That whole regression to the mean thing? It's real.

1) Opening what gate? The leaving in free agency gate? That's been around for decades, bro. Lebron woulda killed for that Thunder team in KD's place. He never woulda left.

2) Wade was in his prime when he left? Are you really comparing Wade leaving that Heat team with KD leaving the Thunder?

3) There's a problem with getting bought out from a situation that obviously wasn't healthy for anyone involved? And then signing cheap to a top contender that had your Buddy and former champion teammate?

I know the smiley face credits this to good natured ribbing but it's not. Judging from this thread alone, LeBron's still under that skin. He got you shook, try to shake that shook.

Meh. I've been under the weather this week so I'm probably a little more dickish than normal. But man, you just won't shut the **** up about Lebron these days. It's kind of embarrassing to see.

Oh, I have no doubt that it will. The guy's shot selection is horrid at times, and he can come in off the bench and shoot them out of games in stretches. No way can he be as productive as he was over those first few games over an entire season. But the Rockets need a guy like Green who is an overly confident, unconscious shooter. They have too many guys (looking at you Ryno) who think way too much about taking good looks from beyond the 3-point line.

Lou Will played this role for them last season, and I think Green is a good fill in for him in that aspect. As long as he can continue to shoot the 3-pointer at a respectable clip and be aggressive offensively with his minutes off the bench, he's going to be a key part of their rotation.
