Sigh. Giannis yet again the top player in the floor. Can anyone aside from his own coach stop him? **** no. Only Jason kidd can. FYJK

I highly doubt that, I hope he can stay healthy though.

The cavs need defense. 29th as of a few days ago. IT is probably one of the worst defenders in the NBA. Their defense, as hard as it may be, will only get worse when he is on the floor. The cavs can already score a lot. Sure. He can help score and open lanes for other players. But at the end of the day, he doesn't help their biggest problem. And lie will probably take the fall. Just like that other coach did.

Lue isn't a good coach though, Kidd might be better. ITs impact is huge regardless of defense. They're going after DJ for defensive help.

Cavs playing really good defense so far but idk if they'll try and keep it up now that they lead big. Being very physical and sliding their feet very well. I guess just showing they can flip that switch still.

I was kidding but I wouldn't be surprised. I mean we didn't have Lowry (cause of the fall) or Ibaka (cause he tried to pick a fight with probably the last guy you want to fight in the NBA: James "I'll take your dumb *** down because I know taekwondo" Johnson) in that game, and Cleveland still lost and gave up 130+ points. He probably saw that as an expected victory. It might explain why he didn't shake hands with anyone there afterwards (or speak with Drake, which he usually does when he is in the front row of the games)

WaDe03

A team almost out of the playoffs vs the 3rd best team in the league (behind the Cavs and Wolves)? No it doesn't.

Yea I think they saw they were out and saw they had a back to back so they tried to take it easy and it bit them in the ***. No one wants to fight Johnson lol! Ibaka knew after he caught the 2 piece he just threw his hands up in defeat lmao!

It's like "spirit squad" from middle school days. Andrew bogut started it as "squad 6" and then ilyasova did it when he was here as "squad 7" and now I think the Bucks run it. The most common chants are "mke. 414. Go Bucks go" and the best one "MVP" for Gianniss.

Nice airball by "king" Klay

Kidd needs to be fired. And the decision making is a 3 man committee. Weird situation. There was something detailed recently but it's well known that the dysfunction just subsided and was silenced once kohl sold the team

This one's unlreated to the games we're talking about at the Moment, but why do the Wiz struggle with teams that are so bad... Orlando is making it a battle in Washington....

Also, as Cavs, Raptors, Bucks, and Warriors, we complain, but we should always remember that we could be as unlucky as Magic fans... they started 8-4... and have been 4-26 since :pity:

He is awful. And we know he got the job because of previous ties with the owners. And he's do bad. Pushed for the MCW trade as he thought MCW was his point guard as knight was a non traditional pg. The list goes on. Terrible defensivly. Can't out our guys in good situations. Terrible rotations

Ah fair enough. I know your pain man.... I felt that way when Jay Triano was the coach here. I think the Raptors were historically bad defensively when he was here, and despite the fact that in our case, the team was supposed to be in rebuild, he kept opting for putting players who were going to leave (E.g. Barbosa) in front of guys like Derozan. He couldn't make a defensive scheme to stop **** from moving. I remember (and the Wade fan might seeing that it was the Heat), that Miami decided to rest their three starters (Lebron, Wade, Bosh) in the final game in the season against Toronto.... and EDDIE ****ING HOUSE WENT OFF FOR 40 in a Miami thrashing.... that game still pisses me off to this day

Hopefully your wishes are granted and they go for a better fitting coach... I didn't think that Triano would get another job in the NBA.... but Phoenix decided to shock me :laugh2:

So Cavs come out blazing and just busting their *** everywhere showing effort and then just completely let up. Lue does not have this team and his defense and offensive schemes are garbage. Everyone says offense isn't the problem but it's been bad lately. Obviously getting IT to work off the rust will be a huge boost there. The defense was better tonight but I still think it's time for Lue to go. Especially with a coach like Fizdale out there.

The Cavs have now hit an all-time low this season. This is worse than the last two losses because of how dominant they started the game.

Don't lie to yourself, you're going to be really disappointed when the playoffs come around

I think it's you who might be disappointed if you think this is a situation where they can just 'flip the switch' again. The C's and Raptors have gotten better and the Cavs are falling apart.

Terrible shooting night by King Klay tonight, and he is snapping his 3pt streak :(

Cal827
01-12-2018, 11:16 PM
I won't say that Giannis is overrated. I think it's more to do with the team. They need to not change their gameplan completely for Giannis when he's on the court. In this game, there were a few points where I was wondering why the guy didn't take the shot and just ended up passing the ball to him. I think they need to keep playing their game AROUND Giannis, rather than change it completely when he's there. They were quite hot and came back, just to lose the lead.

I kinda felt the same way last year in game 6 between the Raptors and Bucks. The Bucks team were able to drag their way back from 26 down to take the lead, and then when they changed the game, the Raptors were able to get back control of the game (well that, and getting the ball out of Lowry's hands that game :laugh2: ). I was relieved because I felt if that team (the team on the run) had won and went into game 7, they would end up upsetting the Raptors.

It might be what I picked up in 2 of the limited amount of Bucks games that I've seen, but I see this team, and think that they can lead the league in assists per game. Time will tell of course, maybe things will change completely when Jabari returns.

Lebron is proven and is coasting as usual. There's no denying he's still by far the most complete player in the game though.

Giannis has a long way to go, and needs to at least develop some semblance of a shot before I can label him in the same air as some view him

Jesus the Rockets are thin tonight. No Harden, Nene, Mbah a Moute or Black. Even Zhou freaking Qi is hurt. D'Antoni is going with a 7-man rotation tonight, and I'm pretty sure they only dressed 8-9 guys tonight. No problem thus far, though. I was really worried about this as a potential letdown tonight.

The MVP is very wide open right now. You can make a strong case for and against all the top candidates.

I think it's really going to come down to the last few weeks. I still think Harden has an edge if he can come back healthy and propel the Rockets to 60+ wins and the No. 2 seed in the West. But he's got to be spectacular. Lebron, Giannis, Kyrie or Durant/Curry could all feasibly take it with great play down the stretch.

God I hope the Rockets sign Paul to a 4-5 year deal in the offseason. I realize it's going to be for a ton of money, and he may fall off after that third year. But this guy is just so much fun to watch. Even with the injuries, this might be the most I've enjoyed watching Rockets basketball since I was 10 years old.

Yeah. I definitely had to see the replay on that one to believe it. This might be Ryno's best game of the season. I would love if this was the start of him being a competent player again. He has been such a minus on the floor for the past month, and they're so much more dangerous when he's a viable threat.

Yeah, the MVP Race can pretty much come down to the line as someone already said. There are so many different variables.

Lebron is doing wonders yet again
What if Toronto or Boston end up with the 1 seed in the East and near 60 wins? I would think that would catapult Irving and/or Derozan up to near the top.
What if the Bucks or Wizards go on a torrid pace to end the year? Do you consider Wall's/Giannis's impact?

There were a lot of arguments for Harden for MVP in 2015, and if Westbrook didn't average a Triple Double, then he could've got it last season. If Houston ends up at least 2nd, do he finally nab one?
If Minnesota stays hot, then KAT and Butler will garner votes...
San Antonio has been strong, despite not being with Kawhi.... mainly thanks to the quietly good season that Lemarcus Aldridge is having (22-9 on good shooting percentages)... Once Leonard is back, it'll be interesting to see if he reduces the numbers or not, but if he doesn't, does Lemarcus garner some votes?
From Golden State, I think that only Durant has a shot at MVP (seeing that Steph has missed a chunk already due to injury)

My prediction is that Harden will win it this season, as he's been fantastic and if it weren't for legendary seasons, he might have a couple already. Right now: it seems like

Harden
Durant
Butler/KAT (The feel good story team tends to draw MVP votes for their best players)
Irving/Derozan (Finishing above a Lebron led team, usually leads to MVP votes)
Giannis/Wall

Of course, watch how Lebron destroys this in the next 20 games, averaging a triple double on 80% shooting :laugh2:

Big up to Kerr for giving looney big minutes in his hometown, including closing the 4th. had 40 people at the game. He low key killed it

You can't be MVP of the league if you're not the MVP of your team (and Green might be more important than KD, too). Without Curry, they take a step back. Without KD, they still look like world beaters.

Durant would be great on any team but i have doubts he could carry a team to the finals... curry though wouldnt sniff the MVP if he was on a meh or even a good team... He would still be a very good player but nowhere near the player he is because people could actually defend him and he himself would actually have to defend and exert a large amount of energy game after game like the majority of other top players... curry doesnt have to do that because he has quite literally 4 of the top defenders in the sport along side of him in green/iggy/klay/durant.

Every time I watch the Bucks it strikes me how much they play like Kidd. Physical aggressive D, weak outside shot.

I love Brogdon. If the Warriors McCaw had Brogdon's confidence he'd be a much better player than he is.

Looney is half on the trade block and the Bucks are a team the Warriors have talked to. It's not just about his home town ... it's about marketing Looney as a trade piece to the Bucks. Bucks, how about Looney and McGee for a 1st?

That’s funny, I was specifically impressed by kidd last night too. Some of that ball movement was ridiculous, def had a couple oohs on some of those bucks possessions, the way they moved the ball.

If they pick up another star they’d probably be competing with Boston for a while

We normally play up to the competition. Play well vs. decent teams. And **** the bed vs bad ones. Like losing to Dallas. Phoenix, Indy, etc.
