Name the top 5-10 players (pre-3 point line) that you think would have shot well had there been a 3-point line. I would prefer you give a percentage with makes/attempts than just the players name.

Feel free to list players and their projected 3 point shooting stats that wouldn't make the top 5-10 list but would have a meaningful impact because of it (Bob McAdoo for example).

I'm curious about **** shooters who shot them so frequently. Like Isaiah Thomas. Did he come in too soon or too early. Hard to tell.

As for the topic, the only plausible answer is pistol Pete as he was the only one brazen enough to shoot from out there while other stars were smart enough to work for closer 2s. Maybe West since corner men were still necessary back then

One thing this era has shown me is the value of a play maker in 4v3 situations. I've seen other players similarly trapped like curry but lacking that pressure release to make it easier for secondary assists. Now nobody traps that way most the time cuz the floor is spaced beyond measure

Jerry west 3 for 7 (43%)
Rick Barry 3 for 7 (43%)
Oscar Robertson 2 for 5 (40%)
Bill Bradley 2 for 5 (40%)
Pistol Pete 3 for 8 (38%)

That's why Curry destroyed defenses. No one knows how to guard a guy like him and he'll screw up any defensive gameplan you have regardless. Defenders on fastbreak disadvantages don't even guard the basket at times. They would rather give up the 2 than let a shooter open. Crazy stuff.

I like your list. Did you put your projected shot makes/attempts in modern ball? Totally okay if you did. Or do you think they would have shot/made that many per game if the 3 point line was around back then?

Modern. Pistol Pete would have shot 8 threes per game but the others would definitely be less.
