No Paul or Capela or Curry or Lonzo Ball...

I wouldn't lock in Phillys C either. Nothing is a guarantee with he who shall not be named.. Other than he will trash talk on Twitter either way. I don't want to say the name because of Philly fans obsessions with trying to get me on the same playing /posting schedule.

And feels good to say it, but Merry Christmas! Best Christmas in 8-9 years.

Knicks have played pretty good D all year. Baker and Frank are actually a very good defensive backcourt off the bench and can't really change up a game at times

He is like a senior that failed out of all his freshman classes yet the teachers keep passing him because he pays them off and says "c mon man I have my guys pay you off". And then he pays them off and gets magical passing grades and marks despite not putting in the time on the court /class room.

Sorry. Truth hurts. Embi is a question mark the rest of his career until he plays 68+ games a year. For 3+ years straight. Min.

Merry Christmas, Philly. At least you guys have a good football team this year

This is where missing Fultz hurts so much. In a slow down game ideally Fultz takes the handle and works the PnR with Embiid while Simmons works the low post.

Pretty sad how poorly the Cavaliers rebounding awareness is. 5s on the shot clock, rebound by Draymond, pass to Klay for the 3. Crazy. Cavs ain't winning with that effort. They gotta know Draymond is going to look for Klay if he gets that rebound. Just bad, so bad. If they get that ball, it's a tie game with their possession. None of that ref BS would've happened.

You're crazy biased for Bron, so I'm not sure what you're going for here. All I'm saying is that if that was a foul, it was extremely close. He definitely got ball initially and at the end of a game on a drive, a ref will always err on using the whistle. There was nothing strange about that being a no call, and the game as a whole was called equally both ways. Bron just did not come to play and had yet another poor shooting night against the Warriors. That was the difference in a game where the Warriors offense once again out up an underwhelming performance.

The Warriors rim protection is insane this year though. Added top shot blocking team in the NBA (by like a 50% margin over the next closest in San Antonio) to their repertoire. Cavs didn't block a shot today. Just didn't bring it.

The officiating was ****ing horrible. Wade settled for the jumper too much for my liking but other than that was very solid all around.

cavs look deeper, but I dont know if the addition of thomas is going to be as seamless as some are expecting. Meanwhile- warriors have been playing like crap this year and have a dominant record based on overwhelming talent more so than excellent play. They have little spurts where they destroy a team in a game.... but for the most part have been very sloppy.

The other day I read that the warriors have been trailing after the first 8 minutes in 26 of their 32 games. Kind of a glaring stat that doesnt mean anything in wins or losses, but it means the warriors arent even prepared for games most of the time. They just kinda walk out there and expect to win because they are the warriors.

I am expecting that when the playoffs come- we might see a more consistent effort level, and if thats the case- it might look a lot like last year. warriors 12-0 or 12-1 headed into the finals.... and heavy favorites in the finals

All I see is melo hot and Westbrook not. Adams and capela good. Harden only hit one shot at half and down 1.

Healthy cp3 and we are up 10 at half.

I'll take a good close win but anything can happen especially with refs failing to give harden any continuation calls EVER.

OKC getting a lot of easy baskets in transition and hitting a lot of contested 18-footers. I don't see that continuing moving forward. But Houston's offense can get so stagnant when Harden is off the floor, and that could ultimately be their undoing in this game.

Good game, thus far, though.

Okay. Here's another one: the reffs will **** over a small market team. Like they did to the Bucks in the ECF in 2000. And there will be copious amount of calls against whoever is playing the Warriors, cavs, Celtics, rockets. Because let's face it. The NBA doesn't want underdogs in the finals. Mark my words. Only thing scary is our defense and toughness. We won't be able to score with some of these guys and that's going to be a problem when the game effectively turns into a 3v5 for us. Need to get some shooters and scorers. Someone like Lou Williams.. Or Jordan Clarkson. Nets beat the cavs earlier in the season.. They are definitely better than the cavs.

So are the Hawks, they beat the Cavs twice.

I haven't caught up in the thread yet but damn, that was such an awfully officiated game between GS/Cavs. So embarrassing to watch as a fan and I hope no Warriors fans think that they deserve that win. It was a great, close game and there's a good chance they would've won anyway, but holy cow. Between head smacks not being called against Draymond and Livingston and those final few Durant hits on Lebron, it was awful. Good game refs?

Hahah, I love the idea of you positing to be a rational level headed fan. That game had some standard poor calls both ways. IE it was a very normally officiated NBA basketball game. The offense was bad both ways, especially by LeBron, but I enjoyed the refs letting them play.

I'm sure you did. I'll remember that next time things go the other way.

So, at 30 other points in that game (along with a no call after LeBron fouled Draymond 30 seconds later) and every other game of the season? Roger that bud. LBJ and their offense were horible. They really have nobody to blame but themselves for the (largely meaningless) L. Always find it hilarious when the crying is so significant on such common plays just because of the spotlight.

Yea first game of the season I'm disappointed in LeBron. Just really not interested all game and downplaying the moment.

Yeah, I'm not saying the Cavs deserved to win that, but those last few non-calls were so bad they stuck out like a sore thumb. Those kind of fouls just can't happen, regardless who they were/weren't called on. They were plain as day and it seemed that they were making a point of not calling them. Same thing is happening to Harden this year; the refs are almost not calling blatant fouls just because they don't want to be tricked.

They either need a fourth ref or a video ref who can call fouls quick in crunch time. There's so much time between some of those plays that a video ref can see as quick as the home audience can.

Twas a great game. Cavs got the short end of the stick but the game was highly contested so in my book, it goes down as a net neutral in my w/l column

That Warriors vs Cavs game was such a turnoff with Cavs first trying to get KD ejected and then bad calls going both ways. Wade jumping into West and refs still falling for it, KD must have fouled LeBron/Wade numerous times. I saw Draymond push Crowder and no calls. Just not very indicative of much. Curry just changes the Warriors gameplay too much and we still don't know what IT can bring.

Btw, not trying to defend LeBron but I think what LeBron tried to do was get others involved and see where he can exploit the Warriors. I saw a LeBron make too many passes not because he was afraid but because he wanted to see which lineup and plays would work. That was the best K.Love played vs the Warriors and Crowder was playing pretty well. Wade+JG+Korver were terrible and those are three of the Cavs best bench players.

Wouldn't surprise me if he did. Pop does stuff like this. He'll try out a lineup, and see how it does, and keep it in his back pocket when needed. Trying to find exploitable matchups and lineups. That's basically what the regular season is for when you're facing someone you expect to see later on. Obviously Lebron didn't have the most efficient scoring game, but not a terrible strategy. GS not having Curry obviously changes things, and even not having IT, but since there are only 2 matchups per year, it wouldn't hurt to try and see what works well
