View Full Version : Orlando Magic

After a hot start, the Magic plummeted back to earth with a nine-game losing streak. They're currently out of the playoffs, but not bad enough to have a good shot at a top-three pick. They obviously don't have the talent to make much noise in the playoffs.
Orlando's been fairly noncommittal to a rebuild so far. They have a mix of nice young talent and other talented but middle-aged players who probably don't fit the timeline of guys like Gordon and Payton.
What should Orlando do? Should they try to build on their early season run? Should they trade some players for younger assets and tank? Should the get another center? I feel like they don't have enough centers.
Vucevic and his $12 million contract seems like one of the league's best trade chips. Fournier also provides good production for $17 million a season. Simmons is a steal. Biyombo plays fewer minutes than how many millions he make each season.

Don't watch them at all but I will assume their red hot start came at a time when most NBA teams were still adjusting to lineups and Orlando already had a very nice chemistry developed and were just on a roll. You can see that their best players all suffered a drop-off as the season came along. Aaron Gordon went from being well above 50% from three to being an average of 44%. League top in average but it's been subsidized by that unrealistic shooting he had early in the season. They were never a good team, tbh.

They couldn't keep it up seeing those boring jerseys and logos all the time.
