Yea but we wouldnt have Fultz or Simmons if we drafted Porz... I will take Fultz/Simmons/Embiid/Roco/Saric for our future over any fringe playoff teams situation... We are 6-6 and could have easily been 8-3 entering tonight while facing an insane schedule... Is what it is... I still expect a top 4 seed.

He was projected to be picked by the lakers thus laker fans thought he would get 20/10 daily and I was called a moron... I loved DLO... Kid, the Warriors (minus their DPOY for a game) lost to an All Star Squad led by one of the GOAT's. Credit to Cleveland - an organization that will never win another championship in our lifetime. But YOU, you're an unabashed diehard fanatic of the tankers. The losers. The nothings. I applaud their recent success, but man, you children have a ways to go. It's not just about top talent. And the Philly Tankers will learn that soon enough. Tonight was Lesson #1.

Not to mention he just extended his record of consecutive games with 6+ 3 pointers to 5 games. The Rockets started the year off a little slow but they've been playing better lately (the fourth against the Cavs notwithstanding).

That mid afternoon Indiana game killed them last year, though. And this year it's on a back to back. Here's hoping, though.

Harden with his third straight game of 35+ points and his sixth straight game with at least 29 points and 7 assists. He's clearly the MVP front-runner right now, and I'm not sure how you could make a case for anyone else. You'll get some people on here that will say Giannis or LeBron but as a rockets fan like you, name me another player playing at his level right now.

Only time I have been mad this year is when we play that D-Bag harden. You are right about green being suspended but as far as curry being hurt please... Up 3-1 is 3-1 and there is no excuse nomatter if Lebron and Jordan are on the other side... Its why it was history my man.

Infact my next actual Ban will probably be when the Rockets lose to the warriors come playoff time because I will celebrate like the sixers just won a championship lolWhen you're a top 5 player in the league you tend to get more calls your way. I'm a rockets fan so going to defend this. Harden is one of the best at driving and drawing fouls. He's on another level right now, MVP style.

How's he looking defensively tho? Has the effort been there this year? Haven't gotten a chance to see them much this year...

It's like it's always been. He takes chances and swipes around a guy, misses, and then the guy runs in for an easy bucket. It's annoying. But he also has played some great defense this year.....it just goes unnoticed because people want to point out when he does the lazy stuff, which, on their part, is just as lazy.

It's like when people ***** about his head snaps or flopping when in reality, that happens on a small amount of his touches and around the same number of times it happens with others. But people just hate the guy.

I will say, he's not lobbing up those shots when a guy gets too close to him when they're running around a screen set for him. He knows he's got the ref's eyes on those plays so he's abandoning that. He's adapting, like any great player. He's getting to the line less, but he's scoring about as many points.

Also, Ryan Anderson has been killing it defensively. Didn't think he had it in him.

It was the coachís fault last night. Were the refs ok?

I thought the refs were okay. Some missed calls both ways, but I don't recall anything particularly egregious.

Yes, Harden is VERY good at drawing fouls. The rules need to be fixed so some of the cheaper tactics don't work.

The issue isn't the rules, it's what the ref's are taught to watch.

Ball first
Feet second
Body last

Harden uses his tactics with his arms and body first when he knows refs aren't watching it.

Harden, from what I've seen this year, hasn't had the spells where he just forgets to play D and literally just stands still flat footed with his hands at his sides. That was the most mysterious thing I think I'd ever seen a star do.

Harden's head snap is still fairly frequent and is considerably more than other players, just like extending the ball out in front of him in the lane is something he does more than anyone else. It's a skill, a valuable skill, and it works. No need to act like it doesn't happen.

Yeah, and depending on where you are on the floor they have different keys. But the intended enforcement of the rules are, to me, part of the rules.

Yea....i disagree. I hate that the NBA consistently does this "point of emphasis" like it's a new rule. It's not its just something they are finally calling.

Really Harden should be getting a bunch of hooking calls. That's what hit is that he does. He hooks the defenders arm, pulls it in, then either pulls the defenders body in or rips up through for the contact. I was talking with a coach I trust who said what Harden is doing is actually kinda dangerous to other players and when he does it around a pick, he's putting separated shoulders and dislocated elbows into play.

He said defending Harden, he would always play with hands at shoulder level or higher, hedge all screens, and if you do foul, he said make him regret it.

I get what you are saying, but let me give you another take on it. In Formula 1 there was a rule that aerodynamic surfaces MUST be fixed ... they were not allowed to move. However, in reality everything will deflect a little under force. So, you need a way to enforce that rule. The way they came up to enforce the rule was to put a 60lb bag of sand on the wing and measure deflection, if it was within a certain tolerance then it was legal. Teams made adjustments so that the wings would not deflect on vertical forces but would deflect on lateral forces so they needed to come up with another test to check legality. The enforcement of the rules are intrinsic to the rules themselves.

The hooking, which is done by people other than Harden, is dangerous, and the enforcement should be more consistent. Just as it should be more consistent with contact created by an offensive player, and stepping under a shooter, and a shooter jumping forward so they can land on a defender. As long as the written rule isn't enforced it's effectively not a rule. It's like some rules are only enforced after an injury.

Using your analogy with F1 racing it's more like this:
They are going to team Harden, using a 10 pound bag, and not testing for lateral forces.

Then they go to team McConnell, using a 90 pound bag, use a 95 pound bag for lateral, then for no reason use a jack to test upwards.

The problem isn't the rule, or how it's written, it's in the people that are meant to apply them.

As much as they can work to make sure that's all covered, it's all down to the refs to properly apply the rules.

I agree, the Celtics have a good Youngís promising team but by ďcontendersĒ, do you mean they would give GSW a run for their money? Iím going to have to disagree, barring any major injury on GSW itís looking like another sweep through the playoffs.

Dude's been a point god tonight. He had nine assists in the first quarter, and he's already at 17 points and 13 assists with more than 8 minutes left in the third quarter. He might have a 30/20 game tonight...

It's a shame nationally he's more known for "flopping" or selling calls than for his passing. He has tremendous ball control.

He's one of the best passing 2 guards ever imo.

Mmm... I love Harden, but I wouldn't go that far. Top 10-15? Yeah, I could see that. His problem is that he's more Brett Favre than Peyton Manning. He's got that "gunslinger" mentality, and it leads him to make a lot of passes that he has no business making. That's why I'd rank guys like Magic, Nash, Paul, Stockton and Kidd ahead of him. But in terms of his ability to make spectacular passes? You could make a case that he's top 5.

As in shooting guard playing the pg lol.

No one is beating GS in a 7 game series. But I think the Cs would be the top team in the east and could take maybe 2 games from GS if they were healthy. I think they match up well with them athleticism/length/defensively wise.

But the C's time will be 2-3 years from now imo when Brown and Tatum mature. They will be fun to watch.
