They deserve way more than that. We have 12th men on teams getting that. I mean Niko on the Bulls just got 2 years for 27 million.

Do you think the league should back legends of the past?

No. That money at that time was a lot of money and properly invested, thanks to the magic of compounding interest would be more than enough. They also get a nice pension at 62.

No. There is no "deserve" ... they chose the jobs they had and they accepted their contracts.

Yeah, and Magic is clearly suffering and destitute off of that piddling income. :)

nah...

but they should take it away from the bums that signed FA contract in the summer of 2016...

The players showed their true ignorance and greed by not smoothing the cap... a small few benefitted at the expense of the many.

Next offseason is going to be even more brutal with even less money available.

Not a chance. It would be never ending. How do you decide who's "good enough" to deserve back pay? Just an impossible idea.

Uh....nope. I can MAYBE see paying a person back pay for a job later found to be knowingly harmful to them yet hidden from them. Backpay to play a child's game? Get the **** out of here.

yep... the cap is only projected to increase $2 million next year... the following year a little bigger bump but by that point the players from year 2016 will be in the 4th years of their deals which means the increase will not be meaningful.
