Saw a fun game on The Ringer (https://theringer.com/nba-first-name-game-e1a2249dcab0), creating the best teams possible from players with the same first name, including homonyms (Isiah and Isaiah, Sean and Shawn, etc.) and public names (Stephen instead of Wardell Curry). The teams should be designed for the modern-day NBA.
Which first names do you think create the best starting five?

My brain doesn't work well on this sort of thing but off the top of my head I can't complete a single team.

Steph Curry
Steve Kerr
Stephen Jackson
???
Stephen Adams
(way too many Steve's available at guard with Nash and Smith etc.)

CP3
Chris Jackson
Chris Mullin
Chris Webber
???

Shaun Livingston
???
Shawn Marion
Shawn Kemp
???

Mike Conley
Mike Jordan
???
???
???

Kevin Johnson
???
Kevin Durant
Kevin Garnet
Kevin McHale

It looks like the Kevin's would be pretty good.

I didn't even think about Kevin until after making the thread. Looks like Durant found his way to the most stacked team again:

1. Kevin: Johnson, Martin, Durant, Love, Garnett
2. Larry: Jones, Hughes, Johnson, Bird, Nance
3. Michael: Conley Jr., Jordan, Finley, Dunleavy, Green
4. Chris: Paul, Douglas-Roberts, Mullin, Bosh, Webber
5. James: Harden, Paxson, Jackson, Worthy, Edwards

I forgot about the Steves (my dad's name). I'd go with Nash and Curry in the back court, Jackson at small forward, the relatively unknown but big-bodied, 1980s one-time all-star Johnson at power forward and the Kiwi Enrager at center.

I think Kevin definitely wins this conversation, but how about Bob/Bobby/Robert?

PG: Bob Cousy
SG: Bobby Jackson
SF: Robert Horry / Bob Dandridge
PF: Bob Pettit / Bob McAdoo / Bobby Jones
C: Robert Parish / Bob Lanier

The back court is underwhelming, but that front court is totally stacked. If I could cheat and add Oscar Robertson and Alvin Robertson to the list, this team might be the best.

Kevin Durant is such a front runner that even his mom named him after the most stacked baller name in history

Bills are a lot like Bobs in that the front court is totally stacked, but the back court is really lacking. I started putting together a list for them, but then started realizing everyone aside from Billy Cunningham was a center. Bill Cartwright was another solid center.
