It's surprising to some of you guys that Wall was offered a max contract? Or is it just that this is the new max? He's their franchise cornerstone and it's not as if they are going to lure a better player than him in free agency, plus it would clear him through his age 32 season. They get his best seasons (he was a borderline top 10 player last year). It's a pretty straight-forward attempted contract extension for them.

Makes sense. Top 4/5 PG and in his prime.

I just think its too much money. Why not average 30 or 35 million per year, but he's getting 4yrs 168million. And they supposedly want to win a championship, have flexibility, and go on a deep playoff run. This contract will completely strap the team. I cant blame Wall because that is what was offered, but I hope he thinks about his team's future flexibility.

I have high hopes for the Wizards. But they will NEVER accomplish anything with such a large portion of the cap going to Wall.

John Wall is probably the best all around PG in the NBA. He is this eras Jason Kidd.

This is gonna completely eliminate their chance at a max FA next year. They had a shot at it with some dumps but now it's a lost cause. They'll need to swing everything through trades now.

If he signs THAT, I won't mention Conley or Curry's deals ever again.
