Every year Posters from PSD come together and do a secret auction of all players throughout NBA history attempting to make the best team and win the PSD All-Time Auction Championship! The teams have been seeded and are now in the playoffs. Please look over the teams and vote based on which team you think would win in a 7 game playoff series.

PF: Elvin Hayes [30] / Larry Bird [6] / Tommy Heinsohn [6]
C: Ben Wallace [29] / Andrew Bynum [16] / Elvin Hayes [3]

vs.

Same, and I like shammys team too. But Super's team is the 04 pistons on steroids, with an actual go to star in bird. Love it. Sorry Sham, but that team is too damn good.

Rodman is probably the best player in NBA history to guard Larry Bird.

Super.

Unless I am wrong and Big Ben didn't guard Yao in real life, he did a good job on Yao head-to-head, limiting him to 16 ppg. I know Big Ben did as good of a job as any against Shaq as well, I don't think the height discrepancy was a big disadvantage due to strength and bulk (lower center of gravity makes you more stable than someone taller).

However, Rodman is as good as it gets to put on Bird. I also don't think Billups can touch Jerry West (2nd greatest SG of all time). I'd love to hear some discussion before voting.

Yup, Yao only averaged 16 ppg against Wallace in 10 games, and Wallace outrebounded him 10 to 9.

As for West, I'd just have Squid guard him, and Billups on Honacek. Not that hard to figure that's what would happen

This is actually the toughest matchup yet it's the least contested one.

Monstars in 7 imo.

I'll write something up tonight, but those Yao vs Ben numbers are skewed by Yao's rookie year

Honestly it's moot in terms of H2H. Neither played each other in the prime.

No way. That is surprising. Not as surprising as the Monstars finding a way to make Elvin Hayes a valuable starter though. Billups-Squid-Bird is AMAZING and I love Hayes and Ben in the frontcourt. The defense is strong and Hayes gets plenty of touches to make him happy. The bench is shaky imo but could win the whole thing.

I'll still make an attempt for a write up but not for a couple more hours; I hope it's not too late at that point

It might be too late at this point. However, you did a good job trading players to assemble your current team. Props.

I don't believe I've seen any of Birds-Hayes-Wallace go far. Yet that trio is looking like the team to beat.
