Thought we might want a place to discuss tonight's draft...

Names to watch:
Luke Kennard
Donovan Mitchell
Justin Jackson

If two of the three go before HEAT someone pretty nice has likely fallen to us (Ntilikina, DSJ, Monk, Collins, Markannen?)

Minnesota now out on Markannen... could see him slip. 7 was where a lot of people had him going.

Monk, Kennard, and Mitchell on board. Do HEAT jump up a couple of spots to try to get Monk? Hmmmm...

You guys are too much... Bam will be a rotation player next year. It isn't sexy, but he is a stud athlete, amazing feet, good rebounder and finisher.

Again...he isn't a starter for us... but its the 14th pick. Chill out.

I think he's a fine player and I'm liking more as I think about it

Wasn't happy at first at all tho

I would've gone Justin Jackson because he is a good 3 and D option. If we wanted Bam that badly, gotta trade back to pick up a 2nd or another late first next year.

Jackson would of been the worst pick possible

We need depth and size. If we lose Reed we can play Bam at the 5 in a smaller lineup. And we've already got far too many guards, this was the right pick. And he wasn't that much of a reach, most mocks or projections had him going 16-19 range. Considering it's the 14th pick, you like the guy and you have that need for size and athleticism you take him. Also this makes me think we'll keep Babbitt since we can go over cap to keep him and also we'll probably either try dumping McRoberts somehow or we'll use that stretch provision and waive him and take 2M hits to our cap this year and the next two, saving us 4M this year and Bam will take his roster spot.

Also Riley said during their workouts of Bam, the dude sunk 30 of 50 3 point attempts and he's only 19. I'll gladly take a young potential Ibaka type guy than take some 24 year old guard we have a glut of already. I wouldn't have hated Giles either. But Heat draft defense, that's what they do. If you consider the work they were able to do with Whiteside and Reed, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to work some of that magic with an ultra athletic and gifted Kentucky big man which lately have had an amazing track record of proving themselves in the NBA.

I'm hopeful. Let's see how the rest of the offseason shakes out.
