Finishes with 70. T-10th All Time.

Didn't watch 'til the end (where the game was done and to be honest he was stat padding from at least 65 on when I tuned in), but that's just an insane amount of points. 3rd most in the modern era.

Ultimate stat padding in the 4th quarter.

That being said, he made some ridiculous shots in a blowout.

Impressive feat but how much of that was scored when the game had already been decided?

Devin Booker became the sixth player in NBA history to score 70 points:

Booker joined Wilt Chamberlain, David Robinson, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor and Kobe Bryant as players to reach 70 in one game. It was the 11th 70-point game in NBA history, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Booker finished 21-of-40 shooting overall, including 4-of-11 on 3-pointers, and 24-of-26 from the free throw line. He added eight rebounds and six assists in 45 minutes.
"This doesn't happen very often," an exhausted Booker said as he shuttled through postgame media duties. "Especially against a really good defensive team like the Boston Celtics. I knew I was going to have to come in, lock in mentally tonight -- playing at Boston isn't easy all the time. They made it tough for me in the first half, and I tried to get it going. I was ultra-aggressive, my teammates started finding me, they started setting really good screens for me and the rest is history."

impressive effort, his game game may be reduced by the fact he was on the suns and also lost the game.

Not to take anything away from this, but Klay probably could have dropped 85 in that one game. Won't be surprised to see more random scoring outputs like Booker produced as the game continues to revolve around 3 point shooting.

Booker topped Klay Thompson's 60-point effort from December for the highest-scoring game in the NBA this season. He had 51 second-half points, including 28 in the fourth quarter, when the Suns intentionally fouled and used their timeouts to help Booker run up his point total.

Kinda like Jennings 55 in his rookie season. Jennings said years later it was bad for him.

Couldn't wait 20 seconds for the game to end and see what his final tally was?

No you didn't, but he was what 4-11 from there? If he hits one more takes one less then he shoots an elite % from 3 with that sample so there's nothing really to pivot towards. He was monsterouly efficient.

I don't know why players/media were hating on him/coach for this.

The game was a blowout from the first 5 mins. The suns aren't playing for anything right now. Let the kid bask in his glory and pad some stats.

Biggest question for me is how he managed 26 free throw attempts. This isn't a guy who gets to the line much.

Great game last night! Booker made it entertaining as I was falling asleep in the first half blow out.

Idk why people are hating on a little stat padding for a team that isn't playing for anything more than experience at this point.

Kobes wasnt. And im not justin sayin it cuz im a lakers fan. They were down pretty bad and that lakers team was dog ****, kobe put em on his back and scored his way to the record books and a W.

I believe 81 will get broken at some point though. Idk about 100.

the NBA has gotten to the point where I hear a storyline like this, and the first question that comes to my head is 'how many free throws he get?'

Ugh, the NBA is such a farce with the calls these days. And all you hear from on-air personalities saying 'the block-charge call is the hardest call to make', 'sometimes the refs miss one', 'that call was because <PLAYER_NAME> has earned the respect of the officials'. Every March the NCAA really points this out for me, again and again.

Great game by Booker, no disrespect to him, but nights like this feel like there should be an '*' beside his name. '*gifted 20 of them through B/S calls'
