So ... Kyrie thinks the earth is flat ... really. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/hey-everyone-just-so-you-know-kyrie-irving-believes-the-earth-is-flat-222937229.html

Less surprising ... Harden still says he's the best basketball players on the planet ... but strangely doesn't mention defense as a part of the game. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/rockets-james-harden-says-hes-for-sure-the-best-player-in-the-world/

Jesus, you're just terrible. Why are you still spewing your ignorance around here like you actually know what you're talking talking about!?!?

OT, I'm excited to watch the actual ASG because my team finally has somebody in it. Hayward probably won't get much burn but it'll still be fun to watch him playing with/against the best.

area 21 is so bad. TNT has been trying to get more time for them with guests and stuff but it's just a terrible show. KG is too hood and has a weird personality. Kenny is just upset whenever KG's area 21 segments come up. they will cancel that crap after this season.. can't believe I will ever hate KG but man, it's B-A-D.

one of the worst yet. I agree with kenny; they need to force these superstars out. $30 million a year and you have some random shmuck from the Suns who only played 20 minutes the entire season so far... pretty sure you can add it in their clause (for the new contracts) that they have to participate in at least one event in that duration of the contract..

02-19-2017, 04:41 AM
My man Eric Gordon rising up. Nice.

That was great what they did for the Sager Foundation.

That was a tough spot to put Curry in. I assume he hadn't warmed up at all but I also assume they cleared it with him first(?). Still, I kinda felt bad for him.

I really wish they'd take away props and using other people in the dunk contest. Just a dude with a ball and the rim. And yeah, they need to bring the stars in instead of bench players or scrubs. But after seeing DaJ get smoked because of lame dunks, I doubt any of the top guys are feeling anymore inclined to sign up than they already were.

2017 weekend so far has sucked...2016 last year's weekend was so much better because Toronto we actually put on a show while New Orleans this year it has sucked...the only redeemable things were the Skills Challenge and the 3 Point Contest but the Dunk Contest was ********** terrible almost like watching paint dry

LA4life24/8
02-19-2017, 10:31 AM
This might have been the worst dunk contest ever. The dude that won did the same dunk twice. Gordon who almost won it last year resorted to dumbass props... wow. Sooo bad. That was embarrassing for the nba. There are so many better dunkers out there.

Hell last year's Dunk Contest in Toronto in our backyard was way better bar none...2015 could even be considered better than 2017

New Orleans after this should never get an NBA All Star Weekend for quote a while like I'm talking decades

Anyone else think this all star weekend is kinda scripted? Like the way they are playing into the whole kd-russ "fued".... that announcer "accidently" announced kd from being from okc? ... they know the all star weekends ratings arent great so they are trying all they can to boost em up

Tg11
02-19-2017, 11:47 AM
I'll admit I've never really thought about it like that before but you do raise an interesting point but at the same time I watch to be entertained and this year's weekend hasn't entertained me...the Celebrity Game I'll admit was entertaining this year and same with the Rising Stars Challenge

But NBA All Star Saturday Night equalled epic fail

That is crap basketball. Worse than exhibition. Let's see some type of competition. Not real hard , but let's not just let my friends run up and down the court to try espn highlights.

I went to the 1976 game in philly. Dave bing was mvp. There was pride in the east vs the west in competition

How far has the game changed and not all for the good

This is a waste of time. Tv, off.

I stopped in the first half. And not bc you said so

This has nothing to do with not getting hurt.

To many friends across teams that do not leave friendship off the court

And if you thought that was entertaining then I guess you could of just played a video game

If a sport has no competitive value, then it is just an exhibition.

Not interested.

I legit had 2nd hand embarrassment of how awkward his set up dunk/misses were in the early going. As far as players caring? No. The ASG has become a complete joke. At the very least, 4th quarters used to be pretty awesome in these games. Now? More layup drills. I feel sorry for anybody who watched this and didn't have the over (and the 2nd half over ; ).

Just watched the dunk contest off my DVR, been away...

Didn't know who won and didn't read any comments yet. Just wanted to give my opinion first.

Boy was that a let down. This contest keeps getting worse I feel like. Now we're bringing in drones as props, dude getting 9's for jumping over a dj and doing a basic dunk,

then dude getting 8's for missing all 3 dunks in the finals... What a ****ing joke. And he had a chance to win because they gave him 8's on a miss and all 10's on his second dunk which normally would have been 8's and 9's on that dunk, just so they could keep it close.

This contest was awful and boring. They should ban props and say you can only use one other person to assist in your dunk. I don't care that most or all dunks have been done before. Repeating great dunks is a lot more exciting than this ****.

Still the biggest embarrassment ever was Blake jumping onto, not over, a Kia to do a normal 2 handed dunk, that the media totally blew up into making it seem spectacular. It was planned all along for him to be in the finals to advertise the Kia. He shouldn't have even made it that far.

Dunk contest blows.

Some of the 90s ball was absolutely the worst I've ever seen. It was Riley's style of play once he got away from the Lakers that lead directly to the rules changes that resulted in the way the game is played today.

Are you talking about New York or Miami? If you're referring to New York and their tough style of play... sorry that was happening years before that. If you're talking about forming a superteam in Miami... Boston says hello.

Not sure where you're going with the Riley thing but the 90's were dominated by Chicago and we saw some of the greatest players/rivalries ever.

What rivalries did Jordan have in the 90's....? It was a hero-ball league created by the NBA to boost their brand. Nike played a huge role in it. Chicago was far and away the best stacked team. We saw the Pistons/Celtics/Lakers all turn old and dry. The new stages of players were stuck on relatively weak teams compared to the Bulls. The ASG might've been better but who cares, honestly? A week from today, we'll be waiting for the Finals. These events have always been iffy for nearly a decade across all sports. And if you think Barkley or some center dribbling and dribbling and dribbling for ten seconds is exciting, I'm not sure what type of ball you watched.

Really ???? How old are you 12 ??? Either you weren't alive in the 90's or have no clue what you're talking about ??? Chicago and Detroit were still a RIVALRY in the early 90's... New York and Chicago are one of the greatest RIVALRIES of all time in the 90's..... Chicago and Indiana were a great RIVALRY in the 90's and Chicago and Utah met twice in the finals that turned out to be a great RIVALRY as well. BTW before you go running your mouth I said " RIVALRIES" in the 90's.... plural meaning more than just Chicago. Also by your logic... Nike wasn't supposed to make money using players to sell their merchandise ????

Just because Jordan was the dominate force of the Bulls ( both offensively and defensively BTW) doesn't mean it was " hero ball" on every team... quite the opposite. Jordan was a force no one had ever seen. I get it you're a fan of today's ball where please don't talk about " players being stuck on weak teams"... the league is as bad as it's ever been with horrible teams.

The all-star weekend used to be a huge event for the NBA and was a MAJOR reason why the NBA was so popular not like today. So guess what.... EVERYBODY CARED ABOUT THE ALL-STAR WEEKEND. The top players came out to display their talents and the all-star games teams actually wanted to win the game. Defense was played for maybe the first half of the game and 4th quarters were for fun times. The NBA was at an all-time high.

Again the all-star weekend was horrible, the NBA is at the worst it's been for a long time and MANY share the same opinion. I'm not sure what type of ball you watched but you're either too young or clueless..... maybe a millennial ??? Get a clue.....

The reason the all star games suck is because all of the stars sit out on the 3pt contest and dunk contest. in the 90s, the stars embraced. You got a d leaguer for christ sake dunking. Who? Umm I'll to the local court and find someone that can dunk as good as him.
