name two role players that have a connection of some sort (role, college, draft, whatever) and pick one.

For example

Frank Kaminski or Sam Dekker?

You could do this with connections from one of the previous ones

Like you would then connect Dekker to someone new

Dekker and Kaminsky is interesting. I'll let someone who knows what they're talking about answer it. While we're at it, I would like to toss in DWade vs. Melo to get some debate going in this thread.

I was considering making a post somewhere comparing both Kaminsky and Dekker as well as their Finals opponent duo Okafor and Winslow to talk about what a niche form of basketball the NBA is now.

Both Kaminsky and Okafor are much better than their former forward teammates in almost every form of basketball except the modern NBA. Put them back in college, in Europe, in Israel, at the Y, 1v1 - anywhere and the bigs win easily. But both forwards look like they can be exactly what the NBA wants in role players today, whereas the bigs are not ideally suited to NBA role player big status.

That's basically what it comes down to - Adam Silver and the owners have decided 3s and dunks by midget guards make better youtube highlight clips than post play and footwork. Until the league either makes the rules the same for big men as it does ballhandlers or we just go back to real NBA basketball that's how it'll be.

I still like to look at Andrew Wiggins vs. Jabari Parker, since they went 1-2 in the draft. I thought Wiggins would be the better of the two, but I def gotta give Parker the edge today.

I think we had a thread a month or two ago. Should be on the 2nd or 3rd page. you can bump it up as its a valid discussion, but if I were to, I would be called a troll by the Trolling Cavs fan.

I'm having trouble coming up with role player comparisons, but it's pretty interesting to have two shooting guards Butler and Wade from Marquette as starters on the same team. They both have a similar style too, which helps make Chicago a three-point dead zone, but is useful for this thread.

I got one: better role player on UCLA's 07 Final Four team:

Aron Afflalo or Darren Collison?

FYI that's the backcourt Russell Westbrook came off the bench for as a defensive specialist. What a college rotation, too bad they ran into the frontcourt they did.

I like Decker today in the NBA. The free flow offense in Houston has made Decker shine again since college.

These guys are not role players but I got one.

Booker and Towns

Towns was the main player in Kentucky and has all the potential in the world. Booker came off the bench on that same Kentucky team. Today not the future, today I think booker is neck and next with towns. Towns is arguably top 5 PF. Booker is arguably #3 SG in the league. Towns rookie year was amazing but Booker is the sophomore co MVP with towns.

I love Booker. That dude is a stud that plays with passion man. Phoenix is set up great.

Role players Danny Green and Gary Harris? 3 and D specialists

Mario Chalmers or Mathew Delly

Ray Allen or Richard Hamilton

Old Ewing vs Prime Zo

Wasn't Farmar on the team too? Those were good times man, had a couple of friends at UCLA during that run, crazy to think how much more athletic RWB got as he developed and the growth of his point guard skills have been severely underestimated. I remember wanting Eric Gordon over him and just laughing at the Clipper curse that ensued.

Chalmers, Allen, and Ewing for me unless we're talking about 1999 or later version of Ewing.

Farmar was on the 06 Final Four team that Westbrook wasn't. IMO that team was better than the 07 one because of how tough they were defensively with Farmar and their bigs. Both teams lost to essentially the same team and had basically the same record so it's hard to truly know unless you're a big UCLA fan I guess.

Which MVP of OKC would you rather have?? Russ? Harden? Or KD?Westy is the best fit for OKC without the other two and it shows this season. Neither Harden nor KD would have done better imho. Both of them have better players around them. Out of the 3, I would rather have KD cause I like his game the best.
