This year, GMs sent private bids for the top players in the game, then used a draft and free agency to fill out their roster. Assume full health when voting. Which team below wins in a 7-game series?

2. Goatland
Gobert / Koufos
Harris / Saric
George / Iguodala
Redick / Powell
Teague / Jackson

7. Rapscena
C- Steven Adams (30), Tristan Thompson (12), Jahlil Okafor (6)
PF- Marcus Morris (30), Tristan Thompson (18)
SF- Danilo Gallinari (34), Stanley Johnson (8), CJ Miles (6)
SG- Courtney Lee (32), CJ Miles (16)
PG- Stephen Curry (34), Matthew Dellavedova(14)

If PG is going off, Courtney Lee or Stanley Johnson (+ defenders) would get a lot of minutes to defend him. Tristan Thompson would be around to rotate and help limit PG as well if they go small.

Okafor getting 6 minutes is hilarious to me while Towns and Porzingis are starters in this game.

this is pretty even to me. think it comes down to who has the bigger impact between Curry and George, and i'd definitely lean Curry there. I'll actually wait for a debate this time tho since it's so close IMO

As Sadds said this is close too. I will give it a day before deciding, maybe one of the gms can try and convince us?

I'm sure he'll try to put Iggy in the game to limit Curry's scoring chances (most likely in replace of Harris) but I think that plays in our favour. If Iggy is put in the game to defend Curry, then you're going to have to slid 1 of Teague or Reddick over to guard Gallo, which will be a matchup we can exploit considering neither are good defenders to guard someone as tall as Danilo.

If I'm Goatland, I play small ball with George at the 4 and Iggy at the 3 to get more shooters in the lineup and improve the perimeter defense. I wouldn't be that afraid of Morris offensively, and I don't think they would necessarily have a huge edge on the glass. But that lineup would be pretty dangerous from beyond the arc and hard for Rapscena to keep up with. I also don't buy that Courtney Lee is going to slow down George, who has nearly half a foot and 20+ pounds on Lee.

And for Rapscena, I just don't see where the offense is coming from outside of Curry. Buying into them means buying into Gallinari as a true No. 2 on a title contender and thinking that they're going to get some offensive production out of defensive specialists like Lee, Adams and Thompson. I'm sorry, but that's a pretty tough pill to swallow. Goatland is just a better, more well-rounded squad.

Side note: For future votes, you guys really need to include the first names of players on both teams. There are hundreds of players in the league, and are we just supposed to assume we know the first names based on position and spot in the rotation?

Also, Raps, you're REALLY going to have to explain your minutes breakdown for me. Why is Okafor getting minutes in a playoff rotation? And why is Curry playing only 34 minutes per game in the postseason for a team with such little offense firepower? I'm guessing that was pulled straight from your clubhouse, but in the playoffs, that minutes distribution makes no sense.

Yea, Curry would play more to exploit the matchup at PG for sure. I'd probably play CJ Miles/Stanley Johnson less and play Okafor more, especially when Koufas is in the game (slide down TT's minutes to PF and slide down Marcus Morris's minutes to SF).

Not sure how it has little firepower though. Gallo's been a high teens scorer the past few years and nearly touches 20 PPG per 36. Morris and Lee complement the offense well so they don't need to force anything to score and are already capable of scoring 10-15 PPG. Miles could also fit in the offense off the bench and was also a 12-14 PPG scorer the past 2 years as well playing for a playoff team in Indiana. Okafor also a strong post scorer at 18 ppg.

And how is Lee not capable of defending George. We had Norman Powell at 6'4" playing good defense on Paul George in parts of the series against the Raptors but one of the better wing defenders in the league can't? Guys are shooting almost 3% less when being defended by Lee mid range and out. And if PG were to go inside, TT and Morris are able to rotate as well.

Curry is amazing and would keep things interesting.
However, I think Goatland is the best team in this game and takes the W.

Sorry didn't have a chance to debate. Lol I guess Curry name power is still strong as hell. Not a chance Raps team wins this in 7.

Regardless, Baller has the best team in this and should win it all.
