This year, GMs sent private bids for the top players in the game, then used a draft and free agency to fill out their roster. Assume full health when voting. Which team below wins in a 7-game series?

1. Boca
PG: Eric Bledsoe/Patty Mills
SG: Avery Bradley/Evan Turner
SF: Kevin Durant/Jerami Grant
PF: Amir Johnson/Myles Turner
C: Jonas Valanciunas/Kelly Olynyk

16. Unknownland
PG: Brandon Knight- Elfrid Payton
SG: Wesley Matthews- Marco Belinelie
SF: Al Farouq Aminu- - Aaron Affalo
PF: Serge Ibaka - Markieff Morris
C: Dwight Howard - Boris Diaw

Boca

Super.

Bledsoe wrecks Knight/Matthews offensively
Bradley shuts down Knight defensively
Aminu slows down Durant (but not enough)
Ibaka I guess over Amir because of the defense? Ibaka looked pretty terrible last season.
JV and Dwight cancel each other out.

Boca in 5

(Boca is a like the ideal version of the Celtics :laugh2:)

Boca is the better team. Can't find a way that Unknownland upsets them.

boca's bench sucks and would get handled. Bledsoe wouldn't wreck Mathews and Bradley wouldn't just shut knight down. Mathews was solid after coming back from a bad injury and with another year healthy will be completely back to his old self. defensively we can limit them perfectly. Yes he has Durant but we all types of length to give him problems. offensively JC will struggle handling Dwight in the pick in roll and we have good spacing to open up the court. I think we steal this. Boca shouldnt be the 1 seed

It's a shame unknownland has to face team Baller in the first round. Both are pretty damn good teams.

I think the obvious advantage here is interior defense for us unknownlanders'.

It'll be tough to score in the paint/at the rim, while also having some solid perimeter defenders in Aminu/Affalo/Morris to throw at Durant. Obv, you aren't stopping him, but you've got the right guys to throw at him and be physical with him, which at times he hasn't done so great with. We could also throw Ibaka at Durant for a quick double team, and force other guys to score. Most of Amir Johnson's damage is done at the rim, so he's a guy you could cheat off if he's on not living near the rim.

Offensively, it'll be an inside out type offense of course with Dwight being the feature, some post ups (not his strength but, will be used at times) but lots of P&R. He struggled in Houston, but the offense wasn't built around him and was a watch James Harden show overall.

Howard was only involved in pick and roll, 9% of the time, which is ludicrous. Meanwhile, other star bigs with similar skill-sets to Howard (a la Hassan Whiteside, DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka, Anthony Davis, Steven Adams) posted pick and roll frequencies of over 20%.

On the Hawks, Coach Budenholzer will provide a system far more accommodating to Howard's strengths. Last season, on offensive trips, the Hawks posted up just 5% of the time, the fifth lowest percentage in the entire NBA. So hopefully, there will be no more highly inefficient dumps down to Howard in the low post. But if the Hawks do want to use Howard in that way, at least we'll get the assurance that Coach Bud will at least use some Spurs-esque motion to free up these post ups. He'll spread the floor, open up kick outs and in general just make posting up for Howard a far prettier task. This will be quite a contrast for Howard, who has grown accustomed to the lack of motion and thoughtless posting up in H-Town.

Ibaka struggled in areas last year, but he hit 52% of his shots from the top of the key, and 36%/33% from 3 from the corners, which are respectable #'s.

Aminu shot the 3 at a 36% clip, and Wes Matthews did as well, (though prior to his injury was closer to 40%)

The other option is pairing Diaw with Dwight... There's a hit defensively, but will also give another low post player (one of the most efficient post players still) http://oi68.tinypic.com/2d29js9.jpg

Diaw is also a terrific passer/playmaker and would run the high/low beautifully with Dwight, in the event the game needs to slow down a bit.

The biggest thing is to try and keep the court spread with shooters. Got your ball handlers in Knight/Payton, P&R finishing specialist in Dwight, respectable post play at times from Dwight (but moreso with Diaw) and guys who can spot up and shoot the ball (ie: Belinelli, Affalo, Ibaka, Matthews etc...)

There isn't that 1 guy who can beat you like Durant is, but it's more of a movement-based offense, lots of P&R, 3 point shooting, and defensive versatility & switching

I actually think the matchup is intriguing, but Unkownland just can't score. Boca in 6

This is only the second matchup that I'm looking at but I'm surprised to see Boca is #1. Bledsoe and JV must be getting a lot of respect from redrafters this go around. Especially because we know how much of a loser Durant is.

I think a lot of people agree with this, but a few people ranking the other top teams way too low messed up the rankings
