@daldridgetnt
Wizards, moving on from Durant, will try and hammer out framework of new deal for Bradley Beal tonight. Max would run five years, $133M.

@ESPNSteinLine
Like DA says: All signs point to the Wizards being prepared to come to a verbal agreement with Bradley Beal on a five-year max and THEN ...

@ESPNSteinLine
And then the Wiz can go out and try to make a deal with an Al Horford or a Ryan Anderson or a Nic Batum before making Beal's deal official.

:speechless:

Though if he can stay healthy, I think he can be a top SG in the league

He has proved he can be a top SG in the playoffs.

$133M over 5 years for Beal might be the worst deal in NBA history. He is nowhere near that good. Not even close. Even when he's healthy he's a bang average player.

Max or near max for an injury SG? Seems Jordan esque. Too bad he is in Charlotte though lol.

Ernie Grunfield. That is all. And its a bad deal, but the Wizards need Beal. Unless DD is coming through that door is there a better option? Add in the fact Wall would be mad.

Wiz can sign Beal last, keep his lower cap hold on the books, and have about $30M in space to use in between.

Too bad, for the Wiz, that deals are fully guaranteed.

This is why i hate Ernie. Because he does the opposite of what should be done. If your going to do a max on Beal, then insure it.

Beal is not the guy who should cause you to ask this just look at mosgov's contract

He has proved he can be a top SG in the playoffs.

:laugh2: Believe me, I know.

He looked like James Harden, but with excellent defense a couple post seasons ago.

Bradley Beal has agreed to a five-year, $128M-plus max contract to stay with the Wizards, agent Mark Bartelstein tells @TheVertical.

Jordan Clarkson 16/4/2 on 43% 24 years old 4yrs/52M
Bradley Beal 17/3/3 on on 45% 23 years old 5yrs/128M

Lets make one thing clear. The problem isn't Beal's talent. The guy is talented and is still one of the best (Top 10) at a very weak postion in the NBA. The problem is health. If Bradley Beal is healthy, then i'm sure a lot of people here take him over Clarkson.

Awful situation. No one thinks hes worth it, but you cant lose him for nothing.

I would take Beal over Clarkson too, but the price difference is ridiculous.

I feel like I am done *****ing about these contracts until the dust settles. But I also feel like I won't be able to stop myself

I would absolutely take Clarkson at his money over Beal with his money.

Absolutely, that's easy. I was just saying if the contracts were the same I would take Beal.

If he can stay healthy its not a bad contract. He can easily be a multi time all star, and a top 3 SG.
