View Full Version : LeBron James Passed Duncan on All-time Playoff scoring list

I know Duncan was never a big scorer, but given that he had already won two title before LBJ even came into the league and is second on the all-time playoff games played list (Fisher is number one), this is pretty impressive.

LBJ is likely to pass Shaq this year as well: he only needs 87 points to do so.

Looks like he'll have to wait another seasons to pass Kobe. He's nearly 500 points behind Kobe. Playing 20 games per playoffs and averaging 25 a game, LBJ would need 20 more games to pass Kobe. He should get it done if healthy by next year.

It's still possible this year. But he's have to average 34 a game and get 15 more games this playoff season.

This puts him in the top five for points, assists, and steal in the playoffs.

He's also top-ten in minutes, and top 15 in rebounding. Top 30 in blocks (not as impressive, but worth a footnote).

Well that's what happens when you play in a weak conference and play with 2 other superstars on the same team and go to the Finals every year. But none of it matters, what matters is Duncan has 5 rings that he won playing in the West and LeBron only has 2.

Yeah, if only LeBron had a team like the Spurs to start his career.. Or if maybe he was on the Lakers instead of Kobe. Send Kobe to Cleveland and he'll be threatening his teammates.

Not surprising in the slightest.

He probably had the easiest road to the finals in the history of the NBA, so he gets to play in a lot of playoff games.

I see a lot of people are discrediting his 'road to the finals' because he is in an easy Eastern conference.

The east is easier than the west, true. And this has been the case since Jordan retired. But the East was even easier when Iverson was around, and yet Iverson has only been to the finals once. The Bad Boys 2.0 only got there once.... the Shaq Heat only got their once...

If it has been so easy for so long, why haven't other players strung together 3 or 4 or 5 straight finals appearances?

This is he NBA. Not some rec league. A playoff game is a playoff game. LBJ had to work at things for a couple years to even make the playoffs, while Kobe and Duncan were drafted onto contenders. His achievements are amazing. People can sully them all they want, but at the end of the day, the only response to that is: Haters gonna hate.

Awesome career for sure. Soon Bron Bron will be the "only" player in the top 10 in playoffs scoring, rebounding, and assists.

I don't care how he did it, passing a all time great who is STILL playing (albeit at a limited level) is very impressive.

Especially considering Timmy was playing prime time minutes off the top, just like Lebron.

That's crazy, if he stays healthy Lebron is going to own the record book in a few years....

People talk about LeBron being in the East but forget that it's not his fault the West in general, are just better teams. So if you give him a better team, isn't it common sense that he will have better players around him and thus, have just the same amount of success? Some of you are just making one-sided arguments. You say he has an easy way to the NBA Finals but then use that as a counter-argument for why he loses NBA Finals against what are better teams?
