Ive already had two stem cell transplants. Very rarely does somebody have a third, Sager told HBO. So I have to maintain my strength, so I can go through this.

...Im not going to be that 36 months. Im going to be that five years. Im going to make medical history. ... Im fighting this thing to the end. I have too much to do.

Damn. Best of luck to him. My grandpa was given 6 months at best and made it 2 years from leukemia. May not sound like a difference to most, but it was tremendous. Hope Craig gets the most time possible, and the most possible out of his time.

My father lost to cancer. I took him to his chemo at Stanford regularly. Met Bill Walsh when he was there for his chemo. One day I brought him in and they did their tests and turned us away saying to come back in 2 weeks if we could. 10 days later he was gone.

I hope Craig beats the odds, but in retrospect one of the very best things about my father's last days is that he was himself through the end, and Craig being able to work is really huge as it means his quality of life is not too terrible.

Best wishes to Craig and his family.

coming from someone who's witnessed this too much in his young life already, cancer is a hell of an ugly fight. Hopefully he comes out on top, he seems to be really well liked in NBA circles.

One of the best courtside reporters ever. I bet Kevin Garnett would still trash his suit in an interview then cry.
