I'm not a fan of records by totals for this exact reason. Mark Eaton is on this list and he did it in 11 seasons. No one else has less than 17 seasons to be comparable. Eaton at one point averaged 5.6 bpg for an entire 82 game season. Just absurd.

had blocks been official back in the inception Russell and Wilt would have avg triple doubles for entire career

Wilt would get 20 blocks basically each game back then, but cool for the other 5 mentioned

amazing feat. I wish they kept blocks back in Wilt's and Russell's day, but, with the pace they would be inflated just like any other raw number back then. But still curious.

It just reminds me of the absurd total of Hakeem's blocks.

do you remember early in Eaton's career, they would make him stand way outside the 3 point line, just so his defender HAD to get his butt outside the paint haha.

He was one of the more awkward offensive players ever so yeah, that strategy was legit-ish haha. He was effectively useless on that end!
