Like what the Cavs have been doing w/ Love lately. Whatever Lue's been implementing offensively has surely been working.

He's one of the best clutch players in the league. I'd much rather have him take the last shot than Bron.

Yeah, we're still learning, though. Still in the 3rd/4th best team in the league range.

Last night vs. Indiana we played extremely well in the 1st half. Indiana made a strong run in the 3rd and we sorta reverted back to iso/hero ball. We gotta get better at maintaining team ball through adversity.

A lot of people in Cleveland are whining about the faster tempo because our defense has given up more points. They don't seem to realize that it's a work in progress and it's something we'll get better at.

I believe Golden State is 2nd overall in defensive rating, yet they're giving up 102ppg to their opponents. The only reason is because they play a faster game. It's more about points per possession, rather than just points.

Heard on the Lowe post from, I think, Brian Windhorst, that the offense the Cavs are running now is what Blatt wanted to do but he failed to get the players to buy in.

I can't believe they didn't fire him in the offseason.

What ever happened to Avery Bradley? I mean, I kept seeing how many people liked his game a couple of years ago and the last 2 years he's looked like the same player. Nothing wrong with that, but no improvement.

If they are going to look at these late plays to determine who gets the ball I kinda feel they should be able to also call fouls. What happens in the situations of close plays is many times the refs just let the contact go and give the ball to that team instead of calling a foul that may result in ft (should call it like they normally would but we know and have seen this happen). When it goes to review however the team that got fouled will now lose the ball after review because they can't change that foul call but it's clearly off said player after the contact (since the player is hitting them not the ball)

Not that I care about this game or think it was horrible officiating just have thought about this before and now it applies again. Could cost a team when it matters and should be avoidable IMO.

That's how i felt about about Dirk hitting that GW against us hahaha. Awesome to see.

38 pts tonight from the mamba, and was draining 3s ala curry.

It was really cool to see him do this one last time (I saw that dirk winner too which was great). Right after that post he missed a few shots and I started thinking "well maybe we pull it off". Of course Kobe responds with a big basket that set up the win.

I wouldn't want his last game vs us to go any other way honestly, that was fun (since we are outta the race already).

Hey man you should be thrilled. I don't know how Minny keeps doing it. They're finding ways to lose with all their young players looking really solid for the most part (Towns/LaVine/Wiggins/Dieng). Looks like you guys will get another top 5 pick. If you guys land one of Ingram/Brown/Hield then your playoff drought will definitely end soon. And if you magically get Simmons, then it's over.

Now if they could just find a way for Rubio to shoot 38%> from the field...lol

It's a shame since Rubio helps your team when he plays (LaVine cannot run the offense like Rubio seems best suited to be a Crawford like 6th man), but yea he needs to improve the efficiency.

Towns forget about it. He's going to be a perennial All-Star by next year.

Love Wall, and this is the most engaged I've seen him in forever. He's incredible when he's locked in.

Wall would be so much better if he just attacked more like he did tonight rather than settle for so many mid range jumpers. Especially since he isn't a very good shooter.

13/14 from the field + 8 threes for 35 points. Best scoring half of Curry's career. Considering he has EIGHT 20+ point QUARTERS this season, that's saying something.

Those were Curry's numbers for his best half and it still doesn't live up to Klay's best quarter. LOL ... this team.

So the ref waited for a play to finish before calling a tech on pop. Pop got up, flipped out. Ref let the spurs finish their possession, then called a T on pop, as he was sitting. So weird lol

I assumed Pop said something under his breath or something after or late in the possession.

I think all refs have a career worth of abuse from Chris Paul. The Clippers tactics have turned against them like it did against KGs Celtics. Eventually the refs subconsciously tune out the complaining and just don't like you. I'd prefer refs to all call perfect and equitable games but that's not reality, and in this reality there is only so much they are going to take and the Clippers have passed that limit ... and to some degree I can't blame them.

Passing and rebounding are what he needs to work on next. Both are sub-par for his size/talent and the teammates he has.

That said, Klay's passing is much better than it has been, which just tells you how bad it was. :)

Yeah, watching Curry last night just illustrates the absurdity of what Klay did to the Kings last year. Klay is a lot streakier than Curry but Klay's hottest seems to be hotter than Curry's hottest, but Klay's confidence is more fragile which is why his improved driving and posting game is important for his game. But now that those are coming along, the next step is to use that threat to get teammates back involved in the plays. He's not selfish, but I think he's a little hyper critical of himself in the moment. If he misses a couple shots sometimes he won't take another shot the rest of the half.

Lol I mean, it's probably fair to call Klay a black-hole offensively if you're looking at it in a negative light (i see what i did there!), but for the most part that's what the Warriors need and want out of him. IE get set up with the ball on the 3pt line with a little space and launch that baby up before the defender can close on him.

Cavs got some serious issues that better get worked out before playoffs or they might not be in the finals.

For the 2nd game in a row we're up by a substantial amount at half time and lay an egg in the 3rd quarter. We keep playing hero ball and it's killing us.

Our rotations aren't right, and our defense is lacking. Cavs are exactly what they are right now - a team with top tier talent and tons of defensive lapses and inconsistencies.

There's no way we should've allowed the Hornets to beat us without their 2 best players in Big Al and Kemba. We can be a very disappointing team (despite our record).

Yeah, I mean I laughed when he got the T, but I don't feel bad for him. He, and the rest of the Clippers, are the biggest crybabies in the game. So boo hoo, a call went against you. Fair play ... but that on court approach has also kept Timmy from getting to "superstar" status beyond avid fans. I don't think his Q rating has been top 10 in the NBA, I don't think his jersey sales have ever been top 10, etc. So is he a traditional "superstar"? He's really only arrogant on the actual court in the middle of his plays (which frankly is amazing to watch someone just turn around and start running back on D while a ball is 20 feet from the hoop and never once have been wrong). Absolutely none of it carries over to the sidelines. You won't ever see Curry wearing a "Check My Stats" T-shirt, etc. It's a pretty big stretch to call someone like that "a douche". Idk, man. Saying that he hopes the Cleveland locker room still smell like champagne isn't really humble at all. And that's not on the actual court.

Guaranteeing a win against OKC (and the Panthers winning the Superbowl) wasn't humble either. And to place emphasis on this - the words he used was an indication that it was automatically gonna happen. "It'll be a good 48 hours -- a win and a win."

That's not just simply confidence... he gloated by prefacing it with, "It'll be a good 48 hours."

Of course, Curry later declares (regarding both the above comments) that it's all in good fun. Eh, maybe GS fans will think he's an alwayshumble goldenboy but you don't make those type of comments in the first place if you are.

For reference, I remember back on the day when people were hating on Lebron for "taking a photo" of all of his teammates BEFORE THE GAME EVEN STARTED. Watching the Cavs/Celtics... Not really feeling the Cavs. Players just have low BBIQ. This leads to poor defensive rotations. As a team we're so mentally fragile.

Mozgov is a dumb player. JR is dumb. Kyrie has low BBIQ and doesn't have the body strength to play tough defense. Love is smart, but lacks athleticism which really hurts his defense.

They have mediocre talent, but they're very well coached and have the tenacity and grit you always want your own favorite team to have. I watched nearly the entire game, the Cavs reverted to the iso ball stuff after the 1st quarter, missed a ton of FTs, bad fouls, bad rebounding efforts, and while you saw the best of JR Smith, you also saw the worst of JR Smith. I watched nearly the entire game, the Cavs reverted to the iso ball stuff after the 1st quarter, missed a ton of FTs, bad fouls, bad rebounding efforts, and while you saw the best of JR Smith, you also saw the worst of JR Smith. Also, what happened to Love? I missed that part.

EDIT: Thigh bruise.

Completely agree. I meant mediocre in terms of talent too. Superb coach and they always play us hard.

They deserved the win. I'm used to watching the Browns squander wins at the end of the game, so seeing this "big three bron-led suparteem" fail like that is a little worse.

Starting to wonder if we've hit our ceiling.

Whiteside was beasting again with 10 blocks. He may break Hakeem's all-time record before the season is over.

Don't think they hit their ceiling. Just lost to a gritty team. It can happen over the course of 82 games man.

They were just playing great prior to this. Could just be ready for the all star break lol

I wouldn't get hung up on it. It's the regular season. I don't blame you though, losses like that are very irritating and annoying because you know it could've been easily prevented if you'd done the little things that are just supposed to be expected out of professionals, like boxing out, not fouling the other team when you have the lead late, making FT's, etc......

Wow it was really 62-26 Spurs at the half.

Hey look, a palindrome!

Dear Lord. Largest halftime deficit in Mavs history. Wonder if its the fewest points in a half for them ever as well.

The Spurs should just try to play lockdown defense and let the shot-clock run out on their offensive possessions for the rest of the game. They may still win.

Hassan Whiteside should be an all-star. And it's also awesome to see the Cavs lose to the Celtics on another note.

The tribute was nice. I even almost choked up a bit remembering all the old battles they've had over the past 2 decades. I don't know how Kobe doesn't tear up in moments like that.

KD drops 40. Westbrook triple doubles. Splash Brothers miss a ton of easy shots. Warriors guys can't get to the line or make free throws.

And yet still OKC lose.

What does it take to beat this team once? And how the hell do you pull it off four times?

To be honest I'm not exactly sure that was the worse offensive half I've seen in a while from this team. But they still managed on the defensive side to handle thier business when it coints

Watching it back and OKC did a great job defending Warriors floppy sets. Waiters surprisingly stuck to Klay quite well.

Watching OKC play hurts so much, they have so much talent (of course, talking about Durant and Westbrook) but the ISO ball is just painful to watch.

You can't win like that.

Also just saw the box score and... Ibaka with 5 shots in 36 minutes, 8pts and 3r, it is just too predictable when Durant and Westbrook are shooting 20+ shots and the rest -10.

It's amazing to me how often people describe NBA players as "trash" and "garbage", but you look at what happens when that same "garbage" goes to good teams with good veteran leadership and good coaches how the "garbage" players play much better. OKC has some decent talent up and down the roster, but they don't seem to be involved much in the gameplan which leads to a lot of standing around and watching which has a knock on effect on their defensive effort too.

The Spurs, Warriors, Hawks, Mavs, Raptors, and Celtics are all playing as teams ... and as a result are playing above their base talent.
