I think one thing we can agree on across the board here is that NBA's All Star Weekend has become less entertaining over the years. Let's take some time and reminisce on what was. You can just give your favorites by year in the following format, or state some historic moments that you got to witness.

Favorite ASG:
Favorite Slam Dunk Contest:
Favorite 3pt Contest:
Favorite Rookie Challenge:

I'll start with one of my favorite, more recent moments, that everyone might remember:

when I watched Jason Richardson finish the '03 dunk contest with THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDBtwXUN_q8), and such ease!

Magic, easily. He hit that last pray of a 3 with like 16 seconds left and everyone just stop playing.

Favorite ASG: 2005 or 2006 (can't remember which) The Pistons starting 4 (Minus Tay) playing at the same time.
Favorite Slam Dunk Contest: Vince Carter, Dwight Howard (Super-Man gimmick). I also remember Gerald Green blowing out the cupcake, not sure if that was the one he won or not though.
Favorite 3pt Contest: N/A None really stand out. Most are usually entertaining though.
Favorite Rookie Challenge: Generally they are all fun. None really stand out to me.

I haven't watched an ASG in a decade probably. LaVine's dunk contest was awesome. As a kid, I watched, but I don't remember any specific games, outside maybe Magic

Vince Carter changed the dunk contest forever and Zach LaVine brought some life back into it last year.

I wasn't old enough but Bird for the 3PT contest when he asked the other competitors who was going to finish 2nd.

I wasn't old enough but Bird for the 3PT contest when he asked the other competitors who was going to finish 2nd.

I was haha. His last shot from the corner (the red, white, and blue ball), I remember him letting it go, then just walking off holding his hand up, index finger only. Went through the net and he was already half way to the center circle to accept his award hahaha

Bird absolutely mic-dropped that three point contest

i am shocked that this thread is not dominated by Magic's all star game. I think it is the only really memorable thing that ever happened at all star weekend. He is the final 4 mins of HIV positive now retired Magic at the all star game.
