if an offensive player is pushed right before catching that ball and shoots immediately while falling b/c of the push is it a shooting foul b/c of continuation or is an off the ball foul?

I think its an off the ball foul. He never had possession of the ball when he was fouled.

thats what Mike Breen said. I guess it makes sense just looked strange. It wasn't even a chuck b/c the player felt the foul just a natural shot. They actually called it shooting LOL but Breen said it should have been off the ball if the pass hadn't got to shooting players hands when the push occurred.

If the foul occurs before he even has the ball, then the ball is dead and a shot cannot take place. Definitely off ball foul.
