View Full Version : Where does Westbrook rank in the league overall?

In the past, I've not been a very big fan of Westbrook, mostly because he seems like he was always playing glory ball. This year, though, he's having perhaps his best season yet. Though he 3pt% is down a little (.300), he is over .500 from inside the arc for the first time in his career, and is also shooting his highest FG% and has the highest TS% of his career. He's also dishing out more assists than he ever has and is leading the league in steals, all while keeping up his stellar rebounding numbers (almost 7 a game; pretty fawking impressive for a PG).

I think most know he's having a great year, but I think these numbers may be good enough to put him in contention for to five in the league, and certainly gives him a strong case for second best PG (behind Curry and ahead of Chris Paul).

Is he not getting enough love this year? How high does he rank playing at this level?

Top 6/7 at the very least.

I can't envision an argument against that aside from his attitude stinks and he has actually had stretches where he creates good opportunities at the rim but doesn't finish which is odd. And maybe the fact he's still a terrible decision maker.

But based solely on his production and skillset. I definitely think he's at the very least a top 7 player.

Top 5.

KD, LBJ and Curry are on another level. Then you have Kawhi, Russ and Davis. All have an argument for #4, but I would give it to Kawhi because he has been great offensively and obviously everyone knows his defensive abilities. I think AD still needs a year or two to become the whole package physically and mentally so I'd say Westbrook is #5.

Harden isn't top 5 because of his defense and Chris Paul's stats aren't even comparable to Russell's.

This. The ridiculous part is he could be higher on another team.

LeBron
Curry
Durant
Davis
Kawhi
Griffin
CP3
Westbrook
George
Harden

5-10 can change week to week, but the top 10 usually stays the same.

So around 8 for Westy. I can't put him above any of LBJ, Curry, KD, Davis or Kawhi so I don't think he's top 5.

I probably have him 4/5th overall right now after Curry, Lebron, KD and Kawhi pretty close to him.

lol, please

I have him second, after Curry, and right before AD.

OKC still should trade him. GM is terrible.

right now he is probably 2nd to Curry... Him/Curry/Lebron are just on another level this year esp. There is no argument for him outside of the top 5 sorry.

Right behind kd and curry. He's not on their level but he's in that group of a few guys fighting for that #3 spot

In a world where the top 3 are locked out, saying anyone is "TOP 5 easily" is a stretch. Top 10 easily I get get behind. #4 and #5 are very up for debate.

Surprising to see people with Westbrook over Durant

Strange thing to say when you're leaving out a guy on his own team who is widely/correctly considered the better player of the two.

AD and Kawhi both absolutely have an argument as well. I'd probably rather have both.
