If you could pick twelve players from any year which you think would be the best team, which year would you go for?

1987 or 88 immediately comes to mind. You have near or at prime versions of:

PG: Magic / Zeke / Stockton

SG: Jordan / Drexler

SF: Larry Bird / Nique / Worthy

PF: Barkley / McHale / Karl Malone

C: Olajuwon / Ewing / Moses Malone

Like the Dream Team but with a healthy Magic / Bird / McHale / Moses / Olajuwon

2006/2007 is pretty good as well

Nash
Kobe
Lebron
Dirk
Yoa

not to mention some guys who could start like

Duncan
KG
T mac
AI
Gilbert
Ray Allen
Vince Carter

All who are in their Primes Arguably.

1987 is probably the best, but I like 2002-2003 too:

PG: Kidd / Nash

SG: Kobe / Iverson

SF: T-Mac / Pierce

PF: Duncan / Garnett / Nowitzki

C: Shaq / B.Wallace / Yao

Frontcourt looks sick + prime Kobe and T-Mac.

I agree it's probably the late 80s, but the early 00s has a good argument too. How about 1976 though?

Clyde/Archibald/Pearl
Iceman/Pistol Pete/Goodrich
Barry/Hondo/Dr. J
Bobby Jones/Bob McAdoo/Cowens
Kareem/Walton/Gilmore

Deep and talented, most close to prime and even had to leave out someone like Moses Malone.
