There's nothing in this article other than blind speculation by the writer. Not even a "rumor from an unnamed source", it's just a report of one mans thoughts on what they might look to do.

I'm pretty sure they would accept a 2nd round pick just to get rid of Rubio. I doubt these reports are true.

Why would you want a non-shooter in their system?

At this point it wouldn't make any sense to do that considering they have Grant and porzingis...I would just focus on developing those guys

Not at all. Pekovic we would give away but there is still hope for Rubio.

Knicks just drafted the 2nd best PG prospect in the draft, and I'd bet that Grant is starting by midseason.

Yea, got a chuckle out of that. According to the NBA he was the 5th best PG prospect in the draft.

.... This is just ignorance by knicks fans. (I know now all of you are stupid) nothing sugest that Grant can be a starting PG. he fell in the draft for a reason. He was also a SR to say he is the 2nd best PG prospect is just dumb though.

All went before this guy for a Reason. not saying he cant be good.... but to say you would not take a proven starter over him. Come on.

I'm saying... By the logic you just used, kwame brown was picked before a lot of good to great players... Just saying it doesn't matter where your picked or who was picked before you. Gm's make mistakes

oh calm down... i already said it was a brain fart on my part... but nothing suggests he can be a starting PG? say what? what suggests he CANT be a starting PG?

and I never said I wouldn't take a proven starter over him, but obviously Knicks will want to give Grant a chance before trading for someone else, especially considering Grant will be making peanuts until 2020.

You are definitely giving Grant a shot and preserving cap space flexibility before you take on Rubio's contract, that's for sure. Grant has passed every test to this point with flying colors. He was one of the best players in SL, has a ton of defensive potential and a Mudiay type huge body for a PG.

What sugest he does have a chance of starting.... yes, he could be... im not going to deny, but to say you dont want to trade for rubio because of the 19th pick in the draft... come on. there is nothing saying he can even play in the nba yet. I have hope he can, I actually wanted him on the bulls. but as a bench guard. not as a starter.

Hmm. I don't see how he fits the system the Knicks were supposedly wanting to run.

But I do think people on here are selling Rubio short. He's a top 5 distributor at the point. His court vision, timing/accuracy and creativity as a passer is second to none right now. On top of that he's still a plus defender.

I get that he's an inconsistent shooter to say the least. And I get that he's not much of a scorer in general. But I don't see why he needs to be. If this was the Knicks without Phil at the helm I would think this would be a good move for them. It's exactly the type of player I would want to have if I was trying to build around Melo.

But then again he's one of my favourite players to watch so... I guess I am biased.

Now that I don't gotta pretend to like Rubio I will say he's trash, can't shoot can't finish solid defender solid playmaker no thanks. Grant who knows? But from his college game and some summer games he looks like he can be good, fast strong inside, good passer has the tools to be a good defender. He needs to work on his 3 point shot a bit but he has a ton of talent.

I dont.

Rubio is like Rondo. Take the ball out of their hands and they become a lot less effective. Melo will have the ball a ton.

I'd rather just give minutes to Galloway and Grant and see what you have.

The Knicks should try to get Bennett as a throw in as well in this deal...He's a great P&R guy but the Wolves were too dumb to give him minutes with Rubio which had a lot to do with his poor season.

He is absolutely a proven starter. Unless you actually believe there are 30 point guards in the league that surpass him?

Rubio's a fantastic playmaker, a very solid defender and a strong rebounder. Just a terrible scorer. Off the top of my head he'd be the Knicks best PG of this decade.

Hawkeye15
08-16-2015, 08:32 PM
makes zip sense. Knicks have nothing to offer, Wolves have no other options, and the triangle is literally the worst possible offense I can imagine for Rubio.

08-17-2015, 12:24 AM
Lol.. why would Knicks want to pick up Rubio's contract? He can't even play more than 40 games... on a real note, he can't score as well. In the PG position, you have to be able to somewhat score to be a threat. Otherwise, other PG's will be destroying you all game. Actually, Knicks might do it. James Dolan is one of the worst out there.

Thank you.

I'm actually excited to watch the Wolves in all seriousness. They have a lot of young talent and KG should be a great influence on the young guys. The big challenge will be guys buying into their roles and learning to play together. With all the young talent they have, some guys may try to do too much and not want to concede to anyone else. Either way, they're an intriguing team.
