Concurrent with their pursuit of David West, I'm told Wizards continue to shop Nene but clinging to hope they can trade him into cap space

Someone trade with us!

Is that really an upgrade other than maybe health?

Nene at least had height to also play C.

Raptors need a PF and have space to take on Nene. Could work.

Actually comparing their stats, games played and minutes, I don't think West is a real upgrade at all.

Nene got a lot of heat for his soft play against the Hawks... but cmon, West is not an upgrade lol. At best they're a wash, and even then I'd rather have Nene due to his length.

Wouldn't mind Nene. Washington's 1st would have to come with.

I thought the health thing too but Nene actually played more games this past season than West. It's a marginal upgrade at best and if they have to give up a 1st for someone to take Nene then it's not worth it.

Did no one watch Nene last year? He was absolutely garbage lol.

West would be a big time upgrade. That toughness, defensive grit, and midrange jumper? That's exactly what the Wiz need

On court ability right now? Pretty similar, about a wash. Leadership, toughness, etc? West blows him away. He would bring the swagger they lost with Pierce leaving.

Even if West is only a small improvement, why wouldn't a team trying to compete for the Eastern Conference be interested in that. If they have to give up 5 1st round picks to get someone to take Nene, then no, the short-term improvement doesn't outweigh the long-term cost. But it won't take that much to get someone to take him on. I think it's good for the Wiz.

Yeah Nene is such a drag I want him off the Wizards.

He is soft, can't rebound, and will usually get injured.

Well that was kind of my point.

What is the limit to giving up that it makes sense? Anything more than a 2nd? 1st? Multiple firsts?

I wouldn't even want to give up first round pick to swap them. Most I'd go is a 2nd or a right-to-swap.

who ever misses out on Lamarcus Aldridge, should go after Nene or David Lee.

Knicks could trade for him. He only has one year left on his deal. They would have to trade Wear and Early to make salaries work (being 8 mil under the cap, i think it could work but not sure). Nene could play next to Lopez and Porzingis. Giving the Knicks a lineup of

Lopez/Aldrich
Nene/Porzingis
Melo/Antentokounmpo
Afflalo/Grant
Calderon/Galloway

Make the Wiz through in a 2nd round pick for taking on the salary.

and we'll get to see him in the uniform he should have worn from the start! bring him home phil!

and he would actually be a good fit for the roster. i like it.
