LaMarcus Aldridge plans to give the Raptors a meeting this week, sources tell ******. Aldridge has interest in TOR, which has max space.

Sources confirm report from @shamscharania that the Raptors are now in line to get a sitdown with LaMarcus Aldridge. As for the Rockets ...

The fact that LaMarcus is even considering the Raptors is huge. Though it's highly unlikely for him to sign in toronto, there are many reasons why he could chose toronto:

-Lock to be an All-star every year
-Lock to at least make the 2nd round every year and contend
-He's get to play PF ( he hates playing Center)
-Toronto is a much bigger market than Portland and one of the better markets in the NBA with an ownership committed to winning and spending to win
-Quality pieces around LMA, (Valancuinas primed for a breakout season, Lowry, Derozan, Ross, Multiple first rounders)
-If LMA signs, the Raptors would have much more luck trying to get Kevin Durant as well, this is similar to a Houston ROcket's situation. Since the Rockets had Harden, it helped them get Howard, something no one would've thought was possible.
-Toronto has the best fanbase, yes, better than GOLDEN STATE.

Also, if we sign LMA, then we'll pretty much be in the ECF for the next few years at least.... Well, unless we run into Paul Pierce again

The knicks got Porzingis. Honestly, Im jealous of them because of that. Ive been raving about this kid and I really really wanted the Raptors to Trade up for him, he's going to be huge in a couple years. Like MVP Huge, Im so hyped for him. He's a gym rat and is passionate, when you're passionate about anything, you'll always work to improve. He's not going to bust.

Honestly, if I was in his position I would love to play for the Raptors. The East is weak, they have a solid team/coaching staff, and Toronto is a good market/fanbase. Not a bad place to play at all.

Lowry
Derozan
??
LMA
Jonas

Not bad, but we would still have a hole at the sf spot. Anyway, its not very likely LMA comes here to tdot

Who plays defense on that team? Lowry when he feels like?

But if I'm the Raptors a consistent inside go to scorer pretty much fixes a big problem for them. They would need 3-4 defensive specialists and shooters to fill the SF and off the bench still.

Aldridge would be great for the Raptors, but he will probably have a few teams to choose between and Toronto rarely wins out when it comes to free agents.

^ Despite the poor playoff performance, they still have a solid team. Easily a 45-50 win team next season.

The problem is 45-50 wins in the east isn't saying much and now the pressure is on MU to avoid first round playoff losses. That is why the Raps are trying to sign Aldridge and Matthews. I doubt it happens but at least they are trying.

I cant see him leaving 30 million on the table to go to Toronto

He already said he is leaving POR so he the money isn't the issue. I actually think Toronto would be amazing if they got him. Great fit for their team.

Oh I think there is a very real chance. I'm not sure it's wise but it's pretty darn exciting. It feels great to have a great GM for once.

Please stay out West. Don't need any more Bulls killers in the East.

I doubt it means anything. Alotta guys just like the attention that comes from having sit downs with multiple teams.

I'd be extremely impressed if the Raptors can land him... though I doubt it happens. This would be an amazing team fit for him as well, win-win for both sides.

LMFAO, you have a point about that, Lowry when he feels like it. But the raptors Front Office is well aware that their defense sucked bargnani balls last season and have made it a priority to improve defense, rebounding and 3pt shooting. So the raptors will probably acquire Aldridge first and then move Derozan for a 3 and D guy. They already drafted Delon Wright, who's a good defender, and plan to sign a Big man/Shotblocker like Bizmack Biyombo.

Id be impressed if Aldridge comes here, the spurs seem like a more appealing option. IF Aldridge comes here, he's only challenge in the east would be Lebron, The east is virtually dead. The west is a much harder place to be in, you could be the championship team like the spurs and lose in the 1st round to the clippers. THat's how it goes out west.

Yes man I can't see LaMarcus coming to Toronto man unless they are serious about really signing him
