View Full Version : Kevin Love where does he end up next season?

If anything where does Kevin Love go or where does he end up next season? Considering he is going unrestricted as a free agent on July 1st it begs the question of where Love ends up next season and considering in Cleveland he more or less underperformed at least by his standards so, where does Love end up?

Big gap....

Houston

I am a Celtics fan so if we do get Kevin Love in the off season along with the core group of guys we have already in Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynyk, etc. then Love can truly take over the team but in all honesty Love he probably wants to go to a team that's a winner but I can't see him going to the Lakers considering the players they already do have unless the Lakers give up a lot to get Love

Blazers if Aldridge leaves. Or Lakers. But Lakers seemed to be tied about thinking about Cousins.

I'm thinking Cavs, unless they REALLY don't want him. I think he'd like to be playing for the Cavs next year, unless he has been completely lying this entire time haha

Staying with the Cavs would actually pay Love more money. It's really about whether he wants to be option 3 on LeBron's team or #1 on the Celtics/Lakers/etc.

Hard to say. If money is his thing LA or Boston. If a championship then staying with the Cavs.

He'll make more money re-signed w/ CLE than he will if he leaves, though I doubt it makes too much of a difference because he'll sign a new max deal under the new CBA once the cap goes up anyway. In CLE he can do that next year but if he leaves he'll have to wait 2 years so his new team will have the ability to give him the higher max (NBA cap rules are ****ing nuts - could teach a doctorate level college course on it TBH). In the grand scheme of things, there really isn't too much of a difference money wise.

If he leaves it's not about money, it's about his role on the team. He's in the prime of his career and he already has multiple seasons of being an efficient #1 option. TWICE in his career already he's averaged 26 points a game with great efficiency. But in CLE he's the 3rd scorer and for a lot of the time just a spot-up shooter. He's so much more talented than that. CLE is the best shot for him to win obviously, but in the prime of his career I'm sure there's at least a part of him that wants to take a stab at winning as "the man." He could always latch on as a supporting player for a championship contender later in his career. That's what his decision is going to come down to - spend his career with a shot to win every year as a secondary player or take a shot at it with the larger role he's talented enough for.

I don't see the fit in LA. Is Randle gonna play SF or come off the bench? There's no way either of them could play center...

If LA gets Love then they're definitely getting Cousins because otherwise it wouldn't make sense. However, idk if they can get Cousins without giving up their #2 pick. They'd have to give up Randle, Clarkson and a couple of future picks.

It would be epic if he went back to the Wolves to create a big 3 with Wiggins and Towns... buuuuttt...

I still say Cleveland. Him opting out was expected. The idea that he would leave a guaranteed title contender after all those years in Minny just doesn't make sense to me. Personally I think the Cavs should let TT walk to make sure they keep Love.

He wants out of Cleveland. It's obvious bron doesn't want him and would much prefer TT. Plus he prob wants to do more than be a 3rd option

If I was him I'd go to Minny, SA, or LA cap allowing.

He won't be the #1 option on LA either... if that's what he wants better go to Boston

Keep him away from LA pleas (rrather have LA or DJ)

If spurs miss on LA could see him going there

Yeah the whole you need to be in a large market to get endorsements is way overblown. He plays in Cleveland but I'm pretty sure he's allowed to leave the city in his off time and explore business opportunities elsewhere. Yes, you can get more exposure in a large market, but that's more critical for a younger player. Everybody already knows who Love is and if they want to sign him to an endorsement deal, I'm pretty sure they can still seek him out in a smaller city.

Yeah especially when he'd be playing next to LeBron. LeBron turns any market into a large market just because of the attention.

Do the rockets even have cap? All this talk about Aldridge going to spurs would be nice but I believe they are strapped in the cap department as well, and are offering Leonard a max contract I believe so would have to be s&t I think love will end up in Boston, not that I'm a huge fan of that either but he's better than what we have. Otherwise he stays in Cleveland. As far as wade I think he's going to Cleveland if love leaves and Aldridge ends up in L.A. and cousins stays put till at least the deadline

OK how about b/c he is leaving Clev b/c they have a guy that steal all his post ups and makes him stand in the corner. Melo dominates the post. Love is also a guy that is too slow to really defend the 3 well and not strong enough to defend the 4 really well. Sound like anyone on the Knicks?
