Is he a valuable trade asset? It looks like the Lakers will be drafting Okafor, making it hard to see Both Randle and Okafor mesh well. Since both have offensive mindsets, both like to pound the ball inside and neither one of them can defend or shoot the ball(yet). It's also very likely Lakers can land Aldrige or Love via FA.

I read that the Kings are shoping their 6th pick for a PF to pair with Cousins. This can be a potential trade for Justice WInslow if he falls on their lap? Or can the Lakers trade Randle for Middleton or Carroll.

Okafor
Love
Middleton
Kobe
Clarkson

I would keep Randle, let the kids play together. Just because people think that they won't mesh well together looking in from the outside. Doesn't mean they won't work well together. I'll stand in the minority and truly believe Randle and Okafor will be dominant together.

I would like to see Okafor and Randle play together as well but if you can get Winslow that would be hard to pass up. Don't know that Sac would do it though. They might be looking for more established vets (the whole reason why they are trying to trade the pick I'm guessing.

Randle is a keeper, when you have a chance to make an unique frontcourt with two strongs and skilled big men, you don't screw this up.

Clarkson will be able to pick and roll from either side with Randle/Okafor...gonna be nasty.

I agree he's nice but this question is all based on who the Lakers will target this summer and having Adridge or Love on the team would keep Randle on the bench and if Lakers can trade him to fill another position of need, why not?

Honestly, I wouldn't want either LA or Love.

Let's see what happens in the draft and then we can move forward to FA and fill our needs.

Agreed, time to move on to the next big thing which very well could be Randle imo.

I think Okafor and Randle could be a devastating front court.

I think Randle and Okafor can compliment each other. Randle's range seems to be improving. That 15-17ft jumper is looking nice. If he can knock that down consistently there is no reason why the 2 can't play great together, even compliment each other. They both can pass. It honestly kinda reminds me of Pau and Lamar. Especially when I watch Randle pull down the rebound and go the distance.

I like the trio of Okafor/Randle/Clarkson. Let them develop together and pick up a few more pieces and this could be fun for a long time. If we can get Butler this train will be moving!

Why is it that most "defensive specialists" cant shoot?

You cant predict the future, but there may come a day, very soon, where the Lakers dominate another team and part of the stat line will read Okafor 26 pts, Randle 22pts, Clarkson 22 pts.............I think we are going this direction and then surrounding them with defensive minded players.

Who can't shoot.lol

Why overpaying for an injury prone who can't defend to save his life like love? Or an aging star who's known to choke in big moments while we have a promising star on a cheap rookie contract for the next 5 years?

Really why?

Agree, we have a young core of very promising players, this trio can save us for years to come, I'm excited to see them develop together.

Really don't believe Okafor and Randle compliment each other....if you can get a Winslow, Mudiay, Herzonia...I would move Randle.

so basically trade an unproven for another unproven? makes no sense, lets see what Randle can do in a fully healthy season

Makes sense if one fills a need versus being a bit redundant....I understand that for some reason everyone loves Randal but if you drafting Okafor then that 4/5 combo is not complimentary.

Randle is an athletic 4 that's an excellent ball handler on the perimeter, whereas Okafor is a low post player. I don't see why they can't compliment each other.

I agree, I don't think we should trade Randle.

Wow! He reminds me of a more physical Lamar Odom. Reports are he's lost about 15 pounds and he feels quicker. Based on his ability to push the ball, could he play SF? Cousins/Boogie + KLove + Randle? Now that's a front court

People are way overthinking this...

Randle can play away from the basket...
