Okay.

I am doing something similar in the MLB section, but I am going to provide a different twist here.

The set up is as follows, you are a GM, and you know the past history of every player up to today. But you get to go back in time, and pretend you have the 16th pick in every draft, and you need to assemble the best roster that you possibly can.

Anyone that was in the first 15 picks does not count. You have to choose the best player that will fill your roster correctly and try to build the most competitive team possible. Remember, players must be able to play the position that you assign them to and must have played multiple minutes in multiple appearances at that position in the NBA to qualify for that position.

Here is how it works:

We are starting in 2003. The first fifteen players are already off the board, and you have the 16th pick, in real life Boston took Troy Bell. But you get to have the privelege of hindsight and get to select whoever you think will help you build the best possible roster.

When you finish, and get to the 2014 NBA draft, we will see who we believe would have the most competitive roster assembled. Note, you can take someone that was an undrafted free agent as well, like a Jeremy Lin, but you need to take him in the year that he would have been drafted, for Lin that would be 2010. I will post up to 29 possible selections, and you can select an Other, but please tell us who you would have taken.

Each poll will last 3 days, and then we will go on to the next year.

I wish I had joined in on this in the beginning, cause now, I'd only have like 3 players :laugh2:

Anyways, I would probably take Draymond Green here, with consideration to Sullinger.

changed my mind on this years pick from green to middleton because everyone picked him, and at the 3 i think theyre equally good defensively, but middleton is the better shooter and can fit in as a starter instead of as a bench player

I missed the 2011 thread because I was in Europe on my honeymoon, but Butler was the guy I've been waiting to draft for a while. Green here was also an easy pick. I actually love the idea of playing him at the 3 and moving Korver to the bench to provide extra shooting on my second unit. The defense of this starting five would be beyond stifling, and there's still more than enough offense to go around with this back court and Gasol starting at center.

Question here is, who isn't picking Green?

Question here is, who isn't picking Green?

It's pretty obvious he's the pick here. Although to play the homer card just a bit, I do think Terrence Jones would be in the conversation if he hadn't had that freak injury and missed half the season. I think his potential is greater than anyone in this group, and if he can ever stay healthy, he has the potential to be a perennial 18-8 caliber guy.

Haha thanks bro

I had this starting lineup in the back of my head since Jeffy started the game. A suffocating defense that will terrorize on the perimeter and make shots hard to come by inside. Plus can still function as a balance and efficient offense

Matter.

Dray is the second best player on the league's best team. That's all.

Mmmm.... I don't know that I'm willing to say he's better than Thompson. He's a remarkable defensive player and is productive and effective in a lot of different areas, but he leaves a lot to be desired on the offensive side of the basketball.

Gonna agree with this; it's easier to ball out when all the pressure isn't on you. He's good but I don't think he would be doing this on another squad. Even Mark Jackson didn't know what he had with him and just used him as a goon/human cigar
