View Full Version : Who should take OKC's clutch shots: KD or Westy?

To me, this isn't even a question. The ball should go to Durant if both players are active. He is a far superior shooter. But I've heard a lot of people saying that this is Westy's team now. I saw Kobe talking with Jalen Rose and Bill Simmons about who should take the last shot, as if it were even a question.

I have a lot of respect for what Westy is doing right now, but as a shooter, he simply isn't that great. He's a decent .456 from inside the arc, and a mediocre .301 from beyond the arc. His points-per-shot is impressive because he is SO great at drawing fouls, but players and coaches are particularly cautious about committing fouls in the closing minute of a game.

If the play it to get an open shot off, there is no doubt in my mind that KD is the one to take it, but I seem to be hearing a lot of people saying Westbrook should be taking it.

Thoughts?

KD. He is the consecutive scoring champ.

Westbrook is one of my all time favorite and is my current favorite but i still choose durant to take the last shot. But first he has to play first. So god damn it durant suck it up and play

Well Durant is currently dealing with his broken foot again. Not sure I'd want a player try to hit a clutch shot on one leg...

Neither. They both should pass it to a role player because it's the best basketball play.

Hey according to Westbrook himself, hes learning to trust his teammates and legitimately owned up to making the incorrect "hero" play.

I'd almost rather have D.J Augustin shoot a game winner than westbrook.

Durant actually hits clutch 30 footers, Westbrook likes to try shooting them with ample time on the shot clock, and airball them

Durant. Even on one leg.

Whoever is open. If they're both open its KD you want.

Westbrook would need at least 7 or 8 attempts to make it. Last I checked you can't save and exit in real life.

lol, please

Durant, every single time. This shouldn't even be a poll, lol.

Yea seriously. I like westy as much or more than the next guy, but if you have a choice, the ball should go to kd 9 times out of 10.

even if westbrook was to someday be the better of the 2 i would still have kd take the last shot. he is more clutch AND he is like a 7 foot shooting gurad lol.

No one in their right mind would pick Westbrook to shoot over Durant. That's why the poll is 10-0. The better question is:

Who should start the possession with the ball?

Durant. Even on one leg.
You are obsessed with him.

You are obsessed with him.
As if there was something wrong with being obsessed with the best player in the nba. He's right. I'd give the ball to Durant even if he was in a wheelchair. Do talent and efficiency mean anything to you at all?

The Marshall that is unheard of to me. Yea. A game play focused on the widest player matters more than a determined plan on a star.
