The recent thread about ranking Kobe had people discussing guys like Olajuwon. Olajuwon was the first big I remember seeing pulling off "little guy" moves, it got me thinking about todays big men, so...

Right now, who are the best ball handling big men in your opinion?

My top 5 would look something like;

1. Blake Griffin
2. Pau Gasol
3. DeMarcus Cousins
4. Anthony Davis
5. ????

Can't really decide who should be in the 5th spot. Duncan? Noah? M.Gasol? Diaw? Olynyk?

Not to sound like a homer, but Noah is pretty good.

He is. There's a bunch of guys I could have in that 5th spot. I'm torn. Lol.

Obviously this isn't a career collection of his work, but I crack up every time I see this vid, and I love posting it in these threads lol.

Yeah Gasols handles are unreal for his size.

Lamar Odom was quite good as a ball handler.

Sorry,I understand now that you meant PF/C,not just PF. Well Marc Gasol is very good.

@C:
Noah
Marc Gasol
A'Mare (I'm thinking back more to Phoenix days)

@PF
Pau Gasol
Tim Duncan
Josh McRoberts (though Miami isn't playing him much)
Blake Griffin
Anthony Davis (not a great 'playmaker' yet, but he's getting there, but he is a good passer, and that is half the battle).

Kevin Love really came into his own as a passer last year, but Blutt doens't seem to give a fawk about that and won't run plays through him. I'm not sure about the 'handles', but he knows how to move the ball.

Greg Monroe proved he was adept at that before Smith came into town, but last year Cheekrs pulled a Blatt and wouldn't run plays through him, and SVG hasn't changed that up. I woudn't say great 'handles', as with Love, but he knows how to pass and take care of the ball.

DMC doesn't impress me much as a play maker. He turns the ball over almost 5 times a game and gets less than 4 assists. People see the 3.4 assists per game for a C and say 'WOW', but Greg Monroe is a better passer/play maker, he just doesn't get the ball as much. When he runs the court, he does know how to handle the ball, but he doens't protect it, and to me, that counts for a lot.

Lamar is a great pick.... though I always thought of hims as a SF who coahces put at PF when they were going 'small'.

Anthony Davis could already be #1. He's the toughest big to guard off the dribble in the entire league.

Nikola Mirotic. He can put the ball on the floor and makes it difficult for bigs to stay in front of him. This has lead to him getting to the line quite a bit.

I'm at work and dying. I forgot about that. That Lakers team was incredible. With Odom at PF and him at C for stretches that could arguably be one of the best ball handling PF/C combos in NBA History.

Anthony Davis could already be #1. He's the toughest big to guard off the dribble in the entire league.

But he rarely dribbles and creates. Hes scary because he wastes no motion

Dude he does it all. What he has done with his jump shot is just ridiculous.

Dude he does it all. What he has done with his jump shot is just ridiculous.

Can you explain how he does it all when he does most of his damage without ever dribbling? Hes not creating with the ball, hes creating as an outlet specialist supreme. I would love to see what hes capable of if he actually handled the ball.
