MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade will not play in Sunday's NBA All-Star Game.

The Miami Heat guard and 11-time All-Star selection made the announcement Tuesday. His replacement for the game at Madison Square Garden will be selected by NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

Wade has been recovering from a strained right hamstring. That injury has kept him out of Miami's last six games, and will keep him sidelined when the Heat finish their pre-All-Star schedule in Cleveland on Wednesday night.

Wade has not played since Jan. 27. Miami's first game after the All-Star break is Feb. 20, at New York.

Wade is a three-time NBA champion, had appeared in the last 10 All-Star Games and was the game's MVP in 2010. He will still go to New York this weekend for some off-court events.

Should be Brandon Knight. The Bucks have been very good this season when compared to the team last year. Even more amazing when you realize that the prize they got for last season is done with a torn ACL, and another one of their "better" players won't stop smoking weed and getting suspended. To me this is a no brainer. The ****ing Deer deserve an AS representative.

Derozan has been injured for a month of the year, and some of his numbers are still pretty terrible (like he shooting under 40% from the field :laugh2: )

Knight. If it's a guard.

Shame he's playing with Kyrie this time so we won't get to see him have his ankles broken.

Miami is 8th seed in the East (in the East). No way a team with a team that's 7 games under .500 deserve to have two players represent them on an All Star Team!

Seems like every year we get like 5 extra guys added. Too many fake allstars

Only "real" all star missing is Blake Griffin. Kobe and Wade are just big names that been around for awhile not "real" all stars! If the NBA was to have a fantasy draft right now I seriously doubt I those two guys go in the first three rounds.

Korver is the guy to replace Wade.
