What this team has done this year has amazed me, I love watching them play and I can't wait to see how they do in the post season and if they can keep this up for multiple seasons.

But for now, how long do you think their current winning streak will last?

They haven't lost since December 26th and have won 19 consecutive games.

For additional context;

- Nine of those 19 have been on the road.
- Ten of those games have been against opponents playing .500 ball or better.
- Twelve of those games are against Eastern Conference teams.

I've noted down their upcoming schedule and marked/highlighted milestones.

The upcoming schedule is;

@ New Orleans (last played in November, ATL won by 9)
VS Washington (Last played in January, ATL won by 31)
VS Golden State
@ Memphis (Last played in January, ATL won by 10)
@ Minnesota (Last played in January, ATL won by 12)
@ Boston (Last played in January, ATL won by 14)
VS Toronto (Last played in January, ATL won by 21)
@ Milwaukee
VS Dallas (Last played in Dec, ATL won by 3)
VS Orlando (Last played in Dec, ATL lost by 1)
@ Miami
VS Houston

If they continue their streak and beat Golden State on Feb 6th they will be tied for the third longest winning streak in league history

If they continue their streak and beat Milwaukee on Feb 22nd they will be tied for the second best winning streak in NBA history

If they continue their streak and beat Miami on Feb 28th, that will be 30 consecutive wins. Tied for the best in league history.

If they continue their winning streak and defeat Houston on March 3rd. They will have set the record for the longest winning streak in NBA history.

How long do you think this winning streak lasts and why?

New Orleans will beat them next. The team is better than their record, and Davis will have a monster game.

If I was a betting man it would be GSW or Memphis, with it being more likely to be Memphis than GSW (mainly because GSW has been playing sub-par as of late). Memphis presents the most match up problems due to their significant size advantage in the front court and lack of reliance on the Pick and Roll.

GSW is an excellent team, but I don't see their style of play being a significant disadvantage versus other teams. Yes, they have amazing shooters but the Hawks are one of the best in the NBA at icing PnR's and packing the paint while still contesting shots behind the arc.

However, if they get past GSW and Memphis, heck if I know. Let's just say if Atlanta gets past both of those teams, I have NO idea who is going to stop them outside of them just having a bad night.

I agree

If GS doesn't get them Memphis will. The grizz played them to a much closer game than the 10 pt loss tells, and grizz were without ZBO

I have a feeling that it all ends tonight. Like someone said already, NOP is a much better team then their record says.

Don't they play Golden State this week. Should be interesting. With that in mind, I would say around 20-24 games at most.

I made this prediction to a friend of mine today, and I'm sticking with it. I have a feeling NO wins tonight.

Yup, so ends the streak.

Pelicans played well, but the Hawks couldn't even make their open shots. That's what makes streaks so ridiculously hard to maintain -- every team has bad nights. And playing the day after the Super bowl after a night in New Orleans, I can't say I'm completely shocked.

Still looking forward to the GSW and Memphis games. :)

Since Thabo has been gone, this team has been close to losing all their games (lost tonight). coincidence? haha

Well, the good news is that the Hawks will not match the Heat's recent streak 2 years ago. Atlanta still is a special TEAM. Budenholzer has them playing with great chemistry. They remind me of the 2004 Pistons though. Just great team ball.

You don't have to go back that far to talk about a team with great chemistry. The Spurs last season truly symbolized team ball.

Not to mention the styles between 04 Pistons and Today's Hawks aren't least bit similar aside from the fact that neither has a "superstar."

But the Spurs have 3 hall of famers on that team. The Hawks have two consistent all stars and two guys having tremendous years. Jeff Teague is making his first all star game. With the Spurs, you know who will go and score. With the Hawks, it's who will get double figures.

Uhhh, that Hawks team has had Millsap, Horford, Korver, and Teague. Each of them is more than capable of putting up 10 points per game. This year or the year before that.. That has nothing to do with team chemistry anyhow. Team basketball is team basketball and what the Spurs did last season was the epitome of team basketball. Guess who the Hawks coach worked for before becoming Atlanta's HC? Clearly, we're seeing that type of game in the Hawks.

I still think the Hawks are extremely overrated. Don't get me wrong, they are a GREAT team. Contenders for the East? I'll concede to that. Are they head and shoulders and arms and legs and toes above every other team in the East like PSD would have you to believe? Heck no. Are they guaranteed an easy road to the finals like people on PSD would have you to believe? Heck no.

They've proven they can compete but and are in the same category as the Bulls, Raptors, Wizards, and Cavs. I'm sorry, but there's a great number of teams that have had long winning streaks that didn't come close to winning a championship that year.

Again... great team, great chemistry, but they aren't gonna dominate 'til they reach the finals. Warriors just lost two games in a row recently but I think they're a better team. I've been saying this the whole time too.

Would not surprise me to watch this team go on a slide. Solid well built team but, don't remotely buy them as a threat to win a Final.
