There are going to be atleast 8 or 9 est players who are playing at an all star level and will not be there this year. Thats why I always hate when analysts say stuff like " if so and so works on his this and that, he will be an all star"

I wanted to know who everyone thinks should be an all star. In the west this year, I think if you arent voted in- you shouldnt make the all star team if your team isnt in the playoffs. Its not perfectly fair, but there are just too many deserving players and it has to be narrowed down to a manageable number in some way.

LOL theres a chance that the thunder who are out of the playoffs will have two all stars and the best team in the league (the warriors) will have one. It would also help if kobe sits it out.

West

Griffin
Gasol
Durant
Curry
Harden

Aldridge
Duncan
Lillard
Howard
K Thompson
A davis
Paul

East
Gasol
Lebron
Horford
Butler
Wall

Lowry
Beal
Bosh
Melo
Teague
Milsap
Derozen

That's a good list. I don't think Durant should make it, nor should the OKC be represented over the Mavericks (not one player listed). Having said that, he'll be voted in I'm sure.

Kyle Korver bc he is shooting a ridiculous 54% from 3

You forgot Wade.

Gonna be some tough choices this year, Nowitzki deserves it, as does Wade, Beal certainly doesn't at 14 pts a game with a sub 15 PER. DeRozan is hurt, I don't know, maybe Kyrie will get it. Also, Melo will be a starter man, he's getting voted in.

Cousins should deff be in. he is the best c in the game.

Better than Marc Gasol?

KD will have played less than half his teams games and they won't even be in the playoff picture. He doesn't deserve it and it doesn't look like his gonna be voted in by the fans.

West

Stephen Curry
James Harden
Blake Griffin
Anthony Davis
Marc Gasol

Chris Paul
Damian Lillard
Klay Thompson
LaMarcus Aldridge
Dirk Nowiztki
Tim Duncan
DeMarcus Cousins

East

John Wall
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony
LeBron James
Pau Gasol

Kyle Lowry
Kyrie Irving
Jeff Teague
Jimmy Butler
Chris Bosh
Al Horford
Nikola Vucevic

I don't think Wade deserves to be a starter but that's how the fan voting will go. I do think he deserves to be an All-Star though.

West is pretty tough. I picked Duncan over Nowitzki bc he averages a double double. I do think Nowitzki will be snubbed as well as Damian Lillard, Dwight Howard, Monta Ellis, Kyrie Irving, & Jeff Teague.

yes, but in the west there are too many good players so having your team in the playoffs really means a lot for representation

I agree but i think that okc will get 2 players in as crazy as that sounds

Bucks will get snubbed. To much team ball going on. Only guy chucking a lot is Knight. Even though #6 for east playoffs doubt Bucks get anyone in this year.

There will be a deserving West PG who does not get an All-Star nod because it is so deep.

Curry, CP3, Westbrook, Lillard, Conley. I don't think all make it.

In the East it should be Lowry, Wall, Teague.

I honestly haven't watched enough of the East teams to make an educated pick. I do like Butler/Wall for the backcourt, and Gasol and LeBron as 2/3 of the starting frontcourt. Melo has played really well, but has been hurt a lot, and his team is historically bad.

I think Lillard gets in over Cousins. The coaches who vote for the reserves value winning. BJ Armstrong was an All-Star one year!

Lillard should get in over Westbrook then. Boogie has been absolutely tearing **** up and Westbrook has missed a ton of games and the Thunder are only 4 games ahead of Sacramento.

I think they both deserve to get in. Cousins also missed a ton of games, and Westbrook has an All-Star reputation. I'm just saying, based on past voting habits, Cousins probably won't get voted in by the coaches.

Id say, teams gotta be in the playoffs and player needs to have atleast 35 games played......atleast in the west

Not sure if you're making a prediction or making an argument ... Because I don't think there's 5 guys in the western conference who are having a better season than Cousins

I selected these two teams based upon their play this season (not reputation), the fact that there team is currently in the top eight of their conference and they have not missed too much time. I choose two conventional five-man lineups (starting and backup) and a backcourt and frontcourt reserve.

West

Starters
PG: Curry
SG: Harden
SF: Nowitzki
PF: D. Green
C: M. Gasol

Bench
PG: Lilard
SG: Thompson
SF: Barnes
PF: Aldridge
C: T. Chandler

Reserves
Backcourt: Ellis
Frontcourt: Duncan

East

Starters
PG: Lowry
SG: Butler
SF: LeBron
PF: P. Gasol
C: Horford

Bench
PG: Wall
SG: Wade
SF: Pierce
PF: Milsap
C: Gortat

Reserves
Backcourt: Teague
Frontcourt: Bosh

So draymond green has out played Anthony Davis?

So draymond green has out played Anthony Davis?

No, Davis definitely deserves to be an All-Star starter and has been having a MVP season (I currently have him second on my MVP list behind Curry), but I wanted to make some interesting All-Star teams so only choose players whose teams are in the top 8 (as I said at the top of my post). If I ignored the standings I would also have put Cousins over Tyson.

No way Derozan makes it, even if he doesn't go down I don't think he's 1 of the top 5-6 guards in the east. Wade, Butler, Wall, Lowry are all locks before him with or without injury and then Teague, Irving and Knight are also before him most likely.

In the East, I'd say Horford and Wade are at the top of my list. I'd love to see Drummond because his rebound is just SO amazing (13 a game in > 30 minutes), but the rest of his game has some serious holes, so I understand if her gets snubbed.

In the West, CP3 should be on there still for sure.... obviously... and DMC.... that guy is tearing it up. He can't help that his ownership fired a coach who was actually winning games.

There rest... there are a lot of close calls. I won't be upset is Lillard doesn't make it, for instance, but if he does, he deserves it.
