If you believe early reports from Twitter, Nets already on sale. My question is this, should it sell for less than the Clips sale given that the team is in shambles for years thanks to Porky.

Definitely less then the Clippers, ignoring the rumors that the Donald Sterling drama drove up the price, when was the last time a sport franchise was sold in as good of position as the Clippers? Nets are about as screwed for the next 4-5 years as a team can be, he's being impatient selling them now knowing that they're just a headache for whoever buys them until they have draft picks again or at least some resemblance of a rebuild underway. Probably sell for ~1billion though so still a hefty profit I guess.

Which to me is hilarious... Buy an NBA team. Acquire a ton of past their prime overpaid players. Go all in on a championship. Pay insane amounts of luxury tax. Fail miserably at your goal. Leave the team in shambles... And still sell the team for a profit.

I hope they get a good owner who can bring in a better GM. I kind of want to see Brooklyn succeed. Much like I wanted to see the Clippers succeed... until they actually got good. Now I hate them.

Blame Billy King for this mess.

I am to, I hope he doesn't sell the team and instead takes this first failure as a lesson and moves forward. If I were a Brooklyn fan I'd definitely appreciate him and all the money he's spent to try and get his team to contend and want him to continue to write the checks.

I just wonder how good that team could have been with a better GM with the same wallet of Prohky

So....300 million plus 100 in luxury tax= 400 million invested.

He's made other profits AND will definitely get more than 800 million in the ny market

Billy King sucks but a deep pocketed GM is not always a plus, especially with a must-win-today mentality that a guy like Proky has (and Dolan had until it blew up in his face for the umpteenth time).

$1.3 billion is a reasonable ballpark.

Why does Billy King continually seem to be employed as a GM? Dude was terrible 10 years ago and continues to be today.

when I said they couldnt keep spending like that and no team can and that it was moronic all I got was called a moron because he has billions and blah blah blah.. Just because someone is wealthy with billions doesnt mean he wants to lose money and that is would most people seem to forget... They have billions because they keep trying to make money and this dude thought he was gonna win a championship and then probably sell the team for a **** load because they just won a championship and he never thought he would lose as much as he did and because of this the team is now ****ed for years to come and its glorious and hilarious.

There was others that were saying the same and got destroyed by nets fans because of it.

Didn't the new arena cost $1B? So they could go for $2B easily or more.

Brooklyn Nets were a joke from day 1.
They are a gimmick.
They wanted to make a splash in hipster brooklyn, so they built a new arena, over paid for a bunched of washed up vets and underachievers, now they are for sale?

Don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back...

His NEED to sell the NETS has nothing to do with the NBA or his teams losses...

close to 50-60% of his wealth has been destroyed by the ruble and oil prices

Again... HE NEEDS to SELL and it has nothing to do with the Basketball

Remember when Joe Johnson and Deron Williams were gonna take over the NBA....lol good times.

Thanks for going to the Nets Deron, best thing that ever happened to the Mavs

Billy King ran the Nets like he was a fantasy GM in NBA 2K and only wanted to play one season.

Nets received: Gerald Wallace

Blazers received: Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a 2012 first-round pick (Damian Lillard)

King is the worst GM in the history of sports. It amazes me how he still have a job

Probably somewhere in the range of 1 - 1.2 billion
