Bulls escape after blowing a 21pt lead. Jimmy Butler does it again. This guy is gonna be flying under the radar in the MVP conversation all season. He will certainly get some votes.

Rockets have been horrible at home this year I don't know what the problem is but they never able to get the crowd into the game from the get go it's to the point where I think they should avoid homecourt

I also feel they rushed starting josh smith without any practice time I honestly believe he should come off the bench more so than start

Hopefully with practice time they can get cut down on these turnovers even though that might be more on needing a Pg

Although I believe a healthy Bulls team will handle the Wiz/Raps in a 7-game series, it's just dumb to count them out if either team did reach the Finals. With that said both teams need to prove themselves worthy in the postseason, last season was good experience for them.

Smith is going to going to be up and down in their system regardless, he's not a halfcourt player. The bigger problem is pg like you mentioned. They don't need anybody spectacular but they could definitely use a Andre Miller type. Harden iso is not going to cut it in the playoffs....

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Josh Smith so far.. 1-2 record for the Rockets too..

Pistons are now all of a sudden a top 3 efficient offense in the league and look like a scary team.. It's remarkable.. Drummond looks like Orlando D12, The floor is wide open.. Pistons have had more wide open looks in the last three games than the entire season so far.

Josh Smith is a true cancer. I'll be shocked if someone signs him for 1 million in the offseason. Unless you're tanking he's not your guy.

Give the Nets some credit. They played a very good game, hounding people on defense and moving the ball crisply on offense.

"Washed up" Brook made Pau and Noah look anemic on the defensive end. "Washed up" Joe was what? 8-13 for 20 points, 11 boards, 4 assists.

Thad knocked the ball loose and it just happened to bounce up and smash him in the face (that isn't a foul) in the 1st half, and in the 2nd, he just flopped his hair back coming off a pick that drew a foul.

I kind of root for games like tonight honestly. Play pretty well (especially the young guys) and then blow it at the end to lose a close one. I mean if we win I'm not mad or anything but a loss is just fine.

I think we can draft a center or power forward really but getting one of those top guys would be huge. Okeafor, towns, turner are the ones I have seen a little of and all are talented (stein too has looked solid). I really wish there was a way to get rid of pek...

Stop, there were some calls that went the raptors way as well. Don't make excuses.

Just late in the 4th and in OT.

Lowry posted up Blake and took a jumper, Blake got called for the foul and he didn't even touch him.

Matthews gains possession of the ball while on the floor and Lowry was all over him yet no foul was called.

Blake trying to make a save and Lowry pushed him, yet nothing was called either. (the play were the refs took forever reviewing). They didn't make the calls for just 1 team...

I think its more of the combo of Smith/Drummond/ Monroe. That's a floor spacing nightmare....

Agreed, just pack the paint and let any of those guys shoot. Smith also played selfish so it is partly on him too, but I think the fit of those three was just a horrible idea from the start.

Look man, I know he's missed 2 seasons in a row and has fallen behind in the best PG rankings..but to say that he's fallen behind freaking Ty Lawson is just too much. Nothing against Ty, but he was nowhere close to Rose 3 years ago and I would still say he's not at the same level at this stage. Sure the stats might indicate that he's better so far this season, but Rose is still working to get his game back and I would bet you he will be much better by season's end barring another injury. There's only a few guys in this league who can take over a game like he can and I'm not talking about just PGs.

Of the 35 games we played we only lost 10 games by 10 points or more. It's not like we are not trying we just don't have the talent. When Melo plays we are at least in games. When he is out we lose by 30 plus. Injuries haven't help at all.

I watched the Pistons eviscerate the Knicks on league pass. 4 in a row for them.

Meeks, Caldwell, Jennings, and Butler really work in Stan Van Gundy's system.

man.... gotta love corey joesph

he's really come a long way. Tonys injury and Patty missing the first 3 months or so has helped him get more confident and look legit out there

not really....miami still has all the weaknesses they had with lebron, just now they are even more glaring. no point guard, no center, and no depth. not to mention spo isn't a good coach.

plus mcroberts played like 2 games and he's out for the year, granger is just healthy now and the flu swept through the whole team for a while. plus wade and even bosh have both missed an 8 game stretch, there's been almost zero chance for the team to play together as a whole still this far into the season. their record seems about right to me considering.

I'd say more like the Lebron bashers who continually liked to point out that he played with "two superstars" despite the fact that neither player has been that for at least two years now.

I'll give you Bosh, but not so much Wade. Too bad it's hardly mattered, which is the most frustrating part about it. Miami's had the two clear best players on the court for several games and all of them we lost (ORL, IND x2, PHI, UTAH). All of them at home too with the exception of one of the Pacer games.

He's been playing better recently, getting higher percentage looks. Hopefully he can keep this up.

Yup, also nice that the coach is giving him a steady amount of minutes now, trusting him the most out of everyone on the team.

He played great. Our defense can help people get a rythm haha.

Haha yeah for sure, we did manage to shut down Exum!!

looking at the cavs box score, looks like love is back in minny, with even worse team mates.

The problem with the Cavs so far is even with Lebron so far they are just average, they are neither particularly good or bad at anything. Now that Lebron is off for a while they are a below average team. They are just an average team overall, more than enough to get into the playoffs in the East but not near good enough to get a top 3 placement - so far.

They're a borderline top 5 offense, but have terrible defense. It's the main reason for their struggles.

You just described the Raptors not the Cavs.

The Cavs defense isn't THAT bad, middle of the pact, same as their offense really (so far), the Raptors on the other hand have a great offense but they can't seem to stop anyone. Take away the Cavs big 3 and they aren't that great offensively, for the Cavs to be that good offensively the Big 3 need to play 40+ minutes a night which will wear them out.

The Cavs are an even more extreme example (top 3 O with a bottom 10 D), but they're both that way. How many + defenders do the Cavs have? One? Maybe two? They're already statistically a bottom 10 D, and that's not going to improve with Varajao out for the year. As many predicted going into the season, it's a bad D. There's no swarming wings. No elite post presence, and really no sign that any of them particularly care (that starts with Lebron and filters down).

Maybe you're confused because you're just looking at their points for/points against stat or something? They're probably middle of the pack on both there, but that's because they run a stagecoach pace.

I looked at the numbers, Toronto's pace is faster but not to the point where it makes a huge difference, Toronto 18th in Pace and Cleveland 25th in Pace. Toronto is barely ahead of Cleveland in Defensive efficiency by 0.3 points. Where you really notice the difference is offensive efficiency, Toronto is 2nd only behind Dallas, Cleveland is at 6th, but the difference between 2nd and 6th looks huge. The thing is Toronto has legit depth, Cleveland does not. As is Cleveland's efficiency overall is only 1.1 in the positive making them average or above average over all, Toronto's is a net positive of 6.8.

Regardless, it's 6th in the NBA. That's higher end. And it's a team that is thrown together. You have to expect synergy to take time and for their offensive efficiency #'s to rise as the season progresses and they better learn each others games. That D though, which already ranks in the bottom 10, does not have the personnel to crawl out of the bottom 10 without a significant trade and a commitment from their personnel top down (James down). I've seen nothing to indicate they will even have an average D by the end of the year. It's why they'll ultimately fail.

In the end I believe the easiest way to tell how good a team is, is point differential and right now the Cavs are 'ok'.

Agreed. Though that has nothing to do with your original point.

Pistons won again! :)

With a loss tonight, lakers would be in sole possession of the 4th worst record. Lets go Pacers!
