Hypothetically, who you would start your franchise around today?

Durant? Davis? LeBron? Harden?

I choose Davis

Durant without question. I'd still take Lebron as a player, but he's got far more years and far more miles on those legs than Durant does. I have a ton of faith in Davis being a top 5 guy for the next decade, but he's yet to become a guy that can will his teams to the playoffs, and he's struggled to get healthy. And I absolutely love Harden, but I think he, Curry, Love and others are just a tier below those top three.

I chose Durant but Davis is a close second for me... Also why is Embiid on the list?

You get any player, age, and contract, to start a new team

Why is Wade on the board? He's more of a complementary player.

So hard between davis and durant. On guy has goat like skills and game, and the other is a big with all the tools to be the top player on a championship team for a decade. I'll probably go with Davis just due to the scarcity of dominating bigs and his tender age. I do think that durant is the better player though.

I picked Parker but I really meant Popovich. Man's a genius.

Davis or Durant.

I'll go with Durant but it's a complete coin flip.

2k, i would say Embid, but since we have not seen enough of him, you cant, but i think he can be a stud center,

that said, anyone today who doesnt say anthony davis is crazy, his youth and tallent is undeniable.

Davis. so young and already so good.

Davis. I want to dominate the paint. Easier finding wing players than a 7 foot superstar.

Edit: He's 6-10 but **** it I'm rounding up.

Embiid is on the list but not Westbrook or John Wall, 2 players i'd have up there before Howard

Durant or Davis.
Leaning towards Durant because he is already proven.

Given today's NBA, this is a two person race between Durant and Davis. Lebron would obviously be a fine choice, but when I hear "build" I think of something like a 5 year project to get complimentary pieces around a player. And if that is the case then I want someone just entering their prime.

It's a race between Durant and Davis. But Davis is younger and he's already a monster. So I'd go with him.

Right this very second? Davis.

Lebron is better than all but he's in his 30s now and Durant is probably better than Davis too. But Davis potential and age means you could contend for years if you put the right pieces around him.

Also big men of his caliber are difficult to come across right now.

I voted other, and I choose Gregg Popovich

Have to go with Durant by default. Haven't seen how Davis does on the big stage yet. Durant can get it done in the big moments. Durant can do just about everything and dude is money in crunch time. Davis is the better defender though. Not saying that Davis can't, just don't have enough to go on at this point.

This is not a big mans game exclusively anymore. It has been proven that a wing can dominate just as well. Also, don't forget about DMC.

Yeah I know. But there's more high caliber wing players than high caliber big men (in terms of playing both sides).

Really hard to pick between Davis, Durant, and Demarcus.

So I'll pick Kobe Bryant :D

I was also thinking about Drummond, but I would worry about the team defense/rebounding if Drummond was the starter (You know, the other players might slack off on that end).

I would choose Durant. LeBron in still the best player in the NBA, but I do not know if he is going to get much better. Davis is the youngest of these three, but remember when LeBron starts declining, KD will be the best player in the league, not the Brow. Also, AD is a centre so on offense the ball has to get to him and on defense his team has to defend the perimeter.

Anthony Davis if we are talking like 10 years. Durant if we're talking like 5-7 years. Lebron if we're talking 2-4 years.

Bruno

today? for practical purposes Durant.

but its far from an easy decision. Five years is a big age gap. almost half an NBA life between AD and Durant, by the averages in a world with injuries.

I think choosing LBJ would be extremely short sighted. if you're choosing one single guy to build your entire franchise around he should be a player who will be who he is today in five years. at least.
