In about 20 minutes per game hes averaging an amazing 73 percent so far with 10ppg 4 boards n 1.7blocks, The record held by Wilt is set at 72 .I know hes taking far less shots, but impressive none the less considering hes not a superstar type player

A lot like DeAndre Jordan's FG% (he's at 72% right now and 33mpg). Yes the % is impressive but everything is right at the rim, so not totally surprising. Good for him though, always happy to see a UNC guy do well.

Surprisingly BRANDAN has been pretty efficient since he came into the league its just injuries really slowed him down his first few season and he was, along with Belinelli, my favorite Warriors players after the we believe team dismantled. His length and quickness makes him a solid defender and his postup game isn't all that bad.

He's a smart player that doesnt really make any mistakes-- I kinda wish the Warriors would have kept him instead investing so much hype around Anthony Randolph who is in Russia now I believe

Im happy hes getting slight more recognition

If this record does get broken it basically has to be a big man who only (mostly) dunks (chandler, Deandre, Wright etc). There is just no way a guard who is tossing up 3's and jumpers can get to 70%+.

Impressive. He won't do it though. There is a reason this record has stood for so long

Right. There's no way he'll keep the pace up. It just won't happen.

If a guard can play heavy minutes every game, and shoot over 70% give him every award there is in the NBA.

good to see b wright find a home in the league. being a warriors fan who watched him his first couple yrs in the league. Hes definitely in a good role with the mavs-

as a player, the guy has a great attitude and hes a hard worker. It's fun to see a guy like that get a little hyped

Another thing proving Wilt is the GOAT and I'm pretty sure Dallas will be in the finals this year, mark my words, they are the best TEAM in the west along with Spurs. Theres much more behind win/lose records.

They are definitely a dangerous team. Their defense isnt horrible either. I think they won't win a chip but will cost a team the chip.

For a contender? Pretty horrible. Not top 20. It's why they won't make it through the West imo.

Love Wright's role on their team, though. Their O is great in general.

I think DJ has a better chance of breaking the record. He maybe attempts a shot every 5 games that isn't a dunk.

yes but does Brandan Wright get anywhere close to the defense Wilt had to face?

when Chandler misses games and he has to log starters minutes hell be knocked off pace.

Eh. Wright's one of the better backups in the league, but low usage prevents this from being really impressive. It's not that all of his shots are at the rim, if it were easy everyone would do it. It's that he can afford to be selective in the shots he takes because of the offensive players around him.

There isn't a single guard in the league who could shoot 60% playing substantial minutes over the course of an entire season, much less 70%. However, if you consider the impact of the 3-pointer and free throws, I suppose you could make a case for some elite scoring guards being more efficient.

I'm honestly just not that impressed by Wilt's FG% record. Yeah, the guy was playing 43 minutes a night, but he was only taking 7 shots a game. It was more more impressive to me that he shot 68% from the floor in 66-67 for that championship Philly team when he was taking 14 shots per game and averaging a 24/24/8 statline for the entire season.

DJ is now in the lead and would have the record with .743%. This after another 5 dunk, 0 shot performance against Phoenix. DJ is also 2nd in rebounds and blocks. He could easily lead the league in all 3 stats.

If Brandon wright averaged 43 minutes per game do you think he would only shoot 586 shots all year and average 73% shooting? I don't think so.

It's crazy how good wilt was even when he didn't need to score. Playing 43 minutes per game means you are one of the leagues best and he definitely showed it despite his lack of scoring that year.
